Official Statement

On March 2nd 2016, SNH48 member Tang Anqi was injured at a certain BaoShanQu district coffee shop in a fire accident. Since the incident, BaoShanQu district police have started their investigation into the accident; currently the investigations are still ongoing, and a conclusion has yet to be reached. From the time of the accident on March 2nd till today, we have always considered the saving of her life to be the mission of upmost priority. Staff members have given blood for Tang Anqi and raised donations. Tang Anqi’s fans have also rushed to give blood without hesitation after hearing of the accident and donate money. They have also, from all their different walks of life, shown compassion and taken part in donation efforts.

When Tang Anqi had not completely escaped danger, during which caring individuals were devoted to the support efforts for her quick recovery, many contradicting voices appeared online. There were attempts of spreading false information, fabrication of how the accident occurred, with the purpose of grasping the public’s attention or interest. Furthermore, there were posts that insulted and slandered other SNH48 members.

As Tang Anqi’s management company, we now accept the full authority entrusted to us by Tang Anqi and her mother to deal with all matters related to the recent accident. With regards to the malicious spread of false rumours online, we are prepared to hold the individual involved accountable for legal liability. It is hereby stated that we look to respond deliberatively and appropriately.

I'm glad they've finally spoken up, especially about the spread of false information.

What a horrible situation. I wish her well in her recovery. Glad to hear her company is also taking action against those spreading false information. Her and her mother are already dealing with alot with those injuries. They don't need to be burdened by rumors and false claims at a time like this.
