HugeBoi Minos Wife 40,568 Posted March 5, 2016 Share Posted March 5, 2016 There have been a lot of hateful comments towards her lately, not like its anything unusual...girl gets so much shit on the regular: when she's been compared by everyone and their mothers, when people try to downplay her popularity and humiliate her with sponsor comments, the list goes on. But what really pisses me off and makes me sad are the commens about her appearance. She has been praised for her nice body but the comments about her skin just wont stop and to me knetz are really crossing the line. Every female on the rise will get hateful comments, all it girls experienced that but even if Seolhyun is not quite there yet in terms of "it girl status", the hate she has been receiving is just insane. Yall remember the latest article about her and Seo Kang Joon in the jungle right? With those lovely comments comparing her skin tone to the color of a briquette. 1. I have a super pretty friend who gets street castings often and I told her she looked like Seolhyun and she got mad asking if I rated her visuals that lowly. It's not that women are being jealous haters, it's just that we honestly don't think that's that pretty for a celebrity. But for those who have been following her this is not the first time. Seolhyun started gaining attention when she appeared on Brave family with Park Myung Soo and CNblue Minhyuk. Back then, she showed her natural side and she was being herself on the show. She was barefaced too and received all kind of nasty comments about her skin. Daebak After the show, FNC started to restrict her and she started to control her image on broadcast (pretty sure she got yelled at by their manager again)...she was acting "pretty" and they criticized her again for acting like a princess on broadcast (I think it was during her first appearance on Running Man with Soyou, Bora and other female celebs). So she changed to please knetz, started using a lot of BB cream too to look whiter. Then she got big with SK Telecom and started to rise. But the constant criticisms obviously got to her and its so damn sad. It never stops and no matter what she does, she gets criticized. I truly wonder why did she do to deserve this....no pun intended but if you monitor her IG, Suzy stans are the ones leaving many hateful comments, they were giving her hell at the time when she was being compared to her and now, even Tzuyu stans came into the mix. I will not go deep into that to avoid the mess but its not like what I'm saying is some sort of foreign concept...everybody already knows about the hate she gets. I'm more worried about her self esteem and confidence. She's hurt by all of this and it shows...she has no confidence in her looks anymore. Here's why: During her interview with High cut last year, she said this: “Recently, there have been a lot of hateful comments. I am the type of the person that reads all of the comments said about me. Due to this, I have become a more careful person.†She carefully revealed, “Little by little, my confidence goes down.†About her image: “I am working hard to show my fans various sides of me. I change a lot. Sometimes I look very pretty and other times, I look ugly.†About her looks (interview for intertainment weekly): "Personally, I don't like my face. I have a problem with my skin. My dark skin," and added, "There was a time when my face was all swollen on a variety program because I was bitten by bugs. That picture circulated all over the internet. I want to delete it," when the MC had brought out the picture of her bare, no make up face. When the MC asked her which part of her body she liked the most, Seolhyun answered, "My waist. I like my waist." You see? Her self-esteem has been greatly affected by all these comments and its just sad. Seolhyun has never been arrogant about her looks, even if she's already so pretty. She never brags about it either, same goes for her body she's geeting all this attention for. This is what she said about herself: "I'm not a natural beauty but I'm natural so people tell me there's something comfortable about the way I look" Girl knows she's not the prettiest. She had no surgery since birth but she acknowledges the fact celebrities get special treatment/care on a daily basis, which make them look prettier than they would have been if they werent famous. She stays humble everytime so I was amazed people were even calling her cocky when a certain mess happened. Well, moving on... Knetz attack her bareface all the time but she never hid it? Like she shared photos of her without make up on her IG so I dont understand the hate. Who would look flawless all the time? She is in the jungle right now so of course, there will be differences...but she's nowhere near ugly without make up like I dont get it? lol I honestly cant wait for her to have a hit project so that she would get acknowledged and her haters would stfu. Seolhyun is honestly such a strong girl and as someone from the same age as her, I dont know if I would have been able to endure all that shit. She's not only pretty but she works hard and stays humble despite her current popularity. Her skin is glowing and I find her the prettiest when she's being herself, without that ugly BB cream. I'm glad she's back from being savage on broadcast and doesnt control her image anymore (Running man with iKON episode, 1n2d...) and I wish things would remain that way. She doesn't live to impress them nor does she need to wear make-up 24/7. This really annoys me. These people are having a lot of free time in their hands, srsly. Her dark skin, here no make up face, everything it's a weak point for these people. It is fine to prefer pale skin and I understand that it is put on a pedestal in their culture, but does that mean it is okay to make rude comments? These people aren't her friends or family (even then is it OK if they know she is really insecure about it?). I usually try to stay away from the debate because it seems useless and energy wasting since I'm just a random foreigner viewing their content, but is it still okay to say she looks like a briquette and other rude things when she is clearly insecure?
