Comments people are making about the new Ghostbusters movie.

Alright, fair enough if you're not that impressed with the trailer, but why are people making rude comments just because the main characters are women? You haven't even watched the movie, yet you think that because these women are playing roles "originally for men", that it will automatically fail. Like wtf.

Lets be really honest. If they were supermodels or something, there wouldn't be as many complaints. Its disgusting. Just look at the amount of dislikes.

Female Ghost Busters make sense though, i mean women like vacuming, sucking things and taking gooey shots to the face (this had the most likes btw)

Feminists just weren't getting enough were they. Lots of these types of comments.

I really like woman In movies, but, this is NOT a good example, this is bad, real bad, so please, get back to the kitchen.

Why are they women (100 likes)

The targeted demography seems to be 12 year old girls.

People don't like it cause it ruined there childhood movie and replaced it with a feminist/unfunny reality show. I'm not sexist I'm just saying why most people don't like this

And why is it you assume that everyone who doesn't like this trailer, and think it looks awful, is sexist? Maybe people don't like it because the cliche jokes are bad. Real bad. Plus the movie is obviously trying to push some kind of feminist ideology. Or tries, it doesn't even do it that well when you look at how the black woman is portrayed. People watch movies to be entertained, not to have an ideology shoved in their face.

Another evidence that people are too politically correct for their own good. It's not enough that you pointlessly made the Ghostbusters girls but you just have to include a black girl, huh? Two birds...I guess.

I think we can see from the comments who the audience is for this thing. Kids who don't know any better and girls 16-25. I guess they set out to make Bridesmaids 2 with ghosts and were looking for the same audience and they got it.

So, just because women are not portrayed in the way you like, this film is only for children and women?

What if it they were male characters like comedians, does that mean the movie is only for children and men then? What kind of bullshit reasoning is that.

What if these women were picked as main characters because they suited the role? It doesn't have to mean anything.

I'm sorry but sometimes I just get so pissed off at these types of comments.

I liked the trailer, there were things in it that brought the Ghost Busters vibe without it being too "new school"

And nah, the amount of hate the movie would get wouldn't change if they were hot because then people would complain that it was too focused on looks and the original had normal dudes (probably alluding to the remake being porn or something degrading). The moment they said "all female lead," I knew it would be some public meltdown.

I have my own issues with things Leslie Jones's stereotypical role, but it still looks like it has the potential to be good.

It's a video on Youtube with an all-female cast (or any females). It's to be expected.

Don't you find that sad?

We often have all male characters in movies, even if the movie was bad, you wouldn't get rude comments targeting them because of their gender.

Our society is way too un-evolved to be able to handle an all male movie being remade into an all female movie. A lot of people's brains are just too small to process the concept, so they spew out whatever degrading thing they can think of to make themselves feel better.

It's become so trendy these days to worship retro things, people who weren't even alive during spoken movies are in the front rows fighting for sanctity of those classics. I watched the movie and cartoons as a child and honestly, it was entertaining, but it wasn't a life changing experience, so acting like it's some kind of holy grail seems a bit pathetic.

Original Ghostbusters story was written by a comedian on SNL to act with his partner on the show. What do we see now? Same SNL comedians playing in the movie, meaning it's the same SNL comedy. So people should relax a bit with the overrating of the original version as an ideal of comedies. It's all in retrospective anyway, anyone can act smart and stuck up by looking back at things when everything is already decided.

And who cares if those are women? Those are top comedians who deliver great acts, parodies and entertainment.

And those who complain about there being a black woman, did they watch the original before saying something so stupid?

Actually what I was thinking when I first watched the trailer and scrolled down. It looks like the meninists showed up and took over. I mean, I admit I probably won't go see the movie because it doesn't look that funny, but damn. And we're the emotional ones? (Though that one comment about the POC is fairly accurate. But if she weren't playing a stereotypical character, they'd still hate it).

lmao I remember my mom's bf screaming about PC culture ruining his childhood when this was first announced

and we're the sensitive overdramatic ones?

Its because females are usually the "eye candy" in movies. They're mostly either the sidekicks to male leads, or just there for the sexual aspects of the movie. If they're actually the lead which goes against all of that, then some see that as threatening. Thus you see rude comments like what I posted. They think women should just stay in the background.

it's a bit counterproductive if you ask me but im a cis white male so i can't have an opinion anyways~

Is that shade?

Yes, you can have an opinion, as long as you're not making comments like "stay in the kitchen" and "ewww feminists!!"
