Hello my fellow muslim brothers and sisters. How's life?

I'm Andre from Indonesia, and I'm also a Muslim, alhamdulillah. I hope you all have a great day today.

I've been around this forum for a while but I've just realized that there's a thread for Muslim users here. I hope we can share many good things, especially about Islam, here.

 

Well, a little bit about myself... I grow up in a quite diverse family. My family are mostly muslims, but there are some who are christians as well. During our respective holidays, we still have a family gathering, despite our differences. Well, that makes me a person that respects other people's rights and beliefs. I hope I can find the same situation here, where the people can respect each other even though we have different beliefs and faiths.

What I want to ask is, why do you choose Islam as your religion? I want to know about all your opinions and views.

 

Well, I was born to muslim parents, but along the way I thought I should find my own belief. There was a time in my life where I thought that there are some people who are muslim because their parents are muslim. Well, I don't want to be like that. I wanted to find my own beliefs. During my adolescent years, I used to ask my family members who are christian about their religion. I even listened to some gospel songs like Oh Happy Day and Joyful Joyful. And then I asked my parents about Islam and decided to also do my own research about Islam.

 

Alhamdulillah, I think I have settled in Islam. I pray and pray for Allah to light my path and show me the right ways and I think right now Allah is guiding me along the way, and I am so happy and glad. I love Islam, I love Allah, and also I love the Islamic ways of life (such as manners of eating, manners of behaving and being a guest, and others)

 

Can I give you a suggestion as well? Maybe you can ask yourself, deep down inside your heart, what you are looking for actually. Then, ask Allah to guide your ways and pray that you are among those people that Allah chooses for His blessings and hidayah. I hope you'll find your way with His help.
