Source Music should really take legal action towards people who bash Umji for her looks

I know GFriend as a whole gets hate on their visuals (at least from Knetz and a few bandwagon Inetz), but the hate Umji gets is much much worse.

 

She gets such bad comments on her looks that it got to her. It's gotten to the point where she lost her confidence. Between handing the mic to the other members and refusing to give a speech during one of their wins to when asked to describe herself in an interview said she's "the one that looks the most different".

 

The sorts of comments Knetz put up and the amount of upvotes they get are disgusting as hell. Umji doesn't deserve to have to put up with this BS at all.

 

With some companies doing it with their idols who receive malicious comments, I feel Source Music needs to do the same for Umji.

To much freedom does exist, and if it's as malicious as the ones towards Umji then it deserves consequences.

I think Umji is cute and it's unfortunate people pick on her. That said, calling people ugly doesn't fit into the legal definition of "malicious," so there's no legal ground for a lawsuit. If source music brought a lawsuit on that basis, it would lose.

She's not the first nor the last idol to be called ugly. It's rude and petty to do so but it's not ruining her career (defamation) therefore they can't really sue anyone for talking shit about her looks.

I definitely agree that the bashing she gets is ridiculous and absolutely rude, but I don't think legal action needs to be taken. People have the right to be douchebags unfortunately. Instead, maybe all of us fans can give her lots of support and love instead.

 

I didn't know the comments got to her, but I think drowning out the hate with love is better than erasing the hate because it sounds rude.

IMHO, SouMu doesn't need to take a legal suit for those who badmouthing Umji. I'd rather want them to give Umji some advice to counter them, so Umji will get stronger confidence. Afaik, law can't do anything about badmouthing except when it does have a serious impact like depression, or anything else that I don't see them yet in Umji's case.

It really has come to far, she's so young and anything can be a breaking point to her mentally and physically. Her company needs to step up and handle it. She's making them money, the least they can do is to protect her from all this.
