Why are almost all kdramas geared towards women?

There are a lot of "action" Kdramas with a male lead tho...

I've noticed that even if those start out 'actiony' they still end up being largely dominated by melodramatic romance plots by the end of it. Basically, because of the live shooting system, no matter where a drama starts out it usually ends in heavy melodramatic romance....

I think it's the same reason most video games are geared to men marketer and content creators feel that's their core demo. Plus is not like men aren't going to watch dramas because it's 'geared' towards women (love, romance, etc) I know many guys the like that kinda stuff, as well as I know women that love bloody, violent video games. Plus like someone else said dramas aren't the only thing on korean tv

And even this is false.  Women are close to half of gamers.

I wonder what the demographics for drama watching is?  Why should romance be considered feminine?

I thought it targeted more towards ahjumma, sorry

I think it because more woman stay on home and watch tv more than men

beside lots of men preferred to watch sport station or action movies and they can't really stand the angst

my dad only watch Dong Yi, Oshin and Jewel in The Palace, as well as action movie,

beside woman is way more in population number than men
