My experience with clean and clear products.

My Everything

Recommended Posts

So I'm mostly acne free except for my blackheads on my nose issue and my sometimes oily skin so I thought I'd try clean and clear morning and night facial cleansers. The first few days I had no problem. My skin felt noticeably soft. The past few days have been hell my face became extremely dry and I've had white residue everywhere. Talk about embarrassing. I wasted $12 and stopped putting it on today. The worst part is I wet my face and the dryness and whiteness comes out only to settle back on my face 5 minutes later.

What do you mean all I used was the cleaners

Cleansers especially more astringent based ones like Clean and Clear are very drying to the skin, so you need to use a good moisturizer afterwards. It's the same idea as if you wash your hands a lot they get dry, and you need hand cream, but the skin on your faces is much more delicate.

I have dry and sensitive skin so I make sure not to use clean and clear because they make my skin feel irritated, red, slight tingling, and tiny dots on the sides of my cheek. Wonder how it works with oily skin, I don't think they have much products for dry or sensitive skin types.

But then why doesn't clean and clear say that in the directions

Honestly all I'm looking for is get rid of my blackheads on nose and oily skin without wasting my money and finding something that I could get at a drug store or regular supermarket

I was thinking of buying that but idk it's expensive

Yeah, but it's worth it in the end for me and a little goes a long way. If anything, you could just get the mini bottle first to see if you like it.

And like others have been saying, you need to moisturize after. It's one of, if not the most, important parts of skincare.

I recommend Purity by Philosophy as a cleanser. I have really dry skin and it works for me.

I've used this for one month and after that I had red splotches on my cheeks and rashes.

It worked amazing for that one month though sigh.

maybe it's good to set your skin to be dryer (since you have oily skin etc), but you still need to apply toner/morning/night cream to keep your skin healthy. many girls with oily skin tends to think they should skip this step cause their skin moisturized already with all the oil produced etc, but it really is the other way around. Your skin 'feels' that it's still too dry thats why it produce oil so much.

Aw, bummer. I couldn't do without it now.

That's the funny thing about skincare, everyone's skin reacts differently to different products so it's hard to make recommendations that will suit everyone.
