Do you think Pledis Girls will be a "female counterpart" to Seventeen

Kinda like how SNSD are with Suju?

I can see it happening, their are 7 Pledis girls on Produce 101 and more that didn't attend the show (one of them training in the USA)

Tbh I could see them having at least 10+ members, seeing how Seventeen was a success and didn't end up being a mess despite having 13 members. I could see Pledis wanting the same for the girl group.

STAN PLEDIS GIRLS!!!!

do pledis have that many people hidden? how will they pay all of them??  :._.:

I kinda hope pinky doesn't make in P101 so pledis can debut all of them together, but she is pretty high in votes so she will probably end in the final line up and we will have to wait until 2017 for this group to debut

But SNSD and Suju are not counterparts.. lmao.. man you are aggy .

How many times do you jump bias ship a week? TBH.

Yeah they were considered "Female Super Junior" during their debut tho, they even had media play and articles on that. And I can "jump bias ship" (if that's how you want to put it) as much as I want thank you very much. Why are you even on my topics?

Whatever, I'm not going to argue on the ignorance and unnecessary aspects of your comment so

well, if all the members debuted in one group...maybe?

I don't think pledis themselves would try to promote the pledis girls as the female counterpart of seventeen; it's not safe as seventeen already have saesangs + pledis girls will only get hate lol

(but then I see a lot of seventeen kfans supporting pledis girls; it's odd)

they could promote the girls as '2nd gen After School' but I remember just before 17's debut, there were articles saying how 17 were after school's little brother group and the comments were like 'who's after school?'  :imstupid:

 so idk

edit: as for the pledis girls being a big group...I think that only seems to work if the group is fandom-oriented, which snsd is.

If I remember correctly, Pledis already made a statement that they wouldn’t be debuting the girls until at least 2017. Which isn’t necessarily trustworthy, considering this is Pledis we’re talking about, so it could be even later…

Best case scenario, Pledis debuts them early half of 2017 when they still have a lot of hype. I know that there is a lot of talk from fans who want them to drop the show and debut now, but I don’t see how or why they would do that. Like…?

They were virtually unknown before the show and have managed to get positive feedback from it, but the hype is still building. For any of them (hopefully multiple girls) to end up on the final team would be great exposure and create loads of interest for when the Pledis girls actually debut together.

Not to mention, Pledis just debuted Seventeen not even a year ago. And while successful, I wouldn’t say that Pledis is in any shape to turn around and do the same with these girls so soon. In case y’all forgot, Pledis is shit with managing and mediaplay. Take a stroll back in time when Pledis was in the same situation with Nu’est and Hello Venus, how well did that turn out? Not good for anybody.

As for numbers + concept…

They should stay around the same number of members - give or take 1~ 2. The trend at the moments seems to be large groups, but I’m already nervous about Pledis managing the 13 of Seventeen. I’m even more suspicious if they could pull the same off with a girl group (which they’re notoriously known for mismanaging, a la After School and Hello Venus).

Hopefully they’ll be marketed with their own style that showcases their own charms and talents, but I can already see the comparison article titles… “Talent-dols Seventeen’s Little Sister Group to Also Debut with Self-Made Conceptâ€â€¦

Which is better mediaplay than Pledis usually puts out (easy to say because they hardly put out any), as will inevitably bring in some curious onlookers, but I’m hoping that the Produce 101 experience will lead to chances for the girls to stand on their own accomplishments for mediaplay. Because they deserve to be known as more than a “sister-group†tbh…

Sorry for the long post!
