  • 2 weeks later...
So i use my uni's wifi and it requires student ID and password to access it

It works perfectly fine on my iPod, iPad, android and everything else

Also worked fine on my laptop, but since last year whenever I connect to the wifi on my laptop, it connects but the pages won't load and says unavailable . I tried on different browsers and it stil doesn't work
Ramdomly tho, it suddenly works but rarely

Ottoke?

i went into the network adapter and change dns setting to automatic. Edited by Meli

As you've told me this extra information, I would back up all your data that you want to keep first and then go to start > type in search "System Restore" > select system restore and then it will bring you to the restore process.

The problems seem quite serious so restoring your computer back to default settings would be ideal.

Thanks for all your help back then in May, I ended up buying a new PC.

No more issues. ^^

Question: if I open an alternate iTunes Library file as described here, will I lose my current iTunes Library? I want to open a file in my Previous iTunes Libraries folder dated 2012-11-29; will that overwrite my current library, or is it a one-time deal?

Probably overwrite it

Just so you know, I tested it out. It creates separate libraries. It's all explained here: http://ipod.about.com/od/advanceditunesuse/ss/Multiple-Itunes-Libraries-One-Computer.htm

I actually just wanted to get the playcount from the date I posted above and it worked. Thanks anyway~

I have some strange issue with my u-torrent. Usually when it's more than 1gb after some time of downloading, I will lose internet access and I would have to reboot my modem. It only happens when I download torrents. Anyone else has this issue? Might be just something torrent-linked :derp:

Does your modem have IP Flood protection? I've noticed something similar on my mod3m where the connection to a large number of IP's (seeders and leechers) trigger the IP flood protection which shut downs the connection for a while. You might be able to turn it off in the modem's settings page.

Hm, never heard of that one. Unfortunately I don't have any documentation on that modem. It's my ISP's. And since there was internet in this flat, I dunno how exactly everything was configured. I just plugged cables to my laptop, didn't do any installation :derp: Do you think it might be a modem problem or can be something with ISP?

Most modems have a web based address you can use to gain access to the settings menu. If you have the make and model you can probably google it and find the default name and password too. The address should looks something like this: http://192.168.178.100/. From there is usually a protection menu of some sort where you can enable or disable various kinds of protection, IP flood being one of them. Or you can do a hard reset on the modem.

Thank you, that was very interesting information. I found that page with settings. But then I am a little bit afraid to reset something, cause what if it won't work  Though at least it's good to know that something is wrong with my modem. Might be a good idea to buy some wi-fi router in future :ahmagah:

I have a problem.

I have an old computer (3/4 years old) that I dumped him because he was having problems and shut himself down.

Now I opened it and I could iniciate him but now I can't enter because I don't know my password. I change passwords frequently so I don't remember it. I don't care if I lose everything I just want to open it.

How can I do guys? Anything I do it
