Life on other planets. Do you think they would have the same or similar major religions as us?

Most notably, Christianity, Islam and Judaism.

I just wonder whether certain rules within these religions, apply to other planets. If we talk about things such as God, Prophets, holy sites, praying, concept of Heaven and Hell, Day of Judgement, Anti-Christ etc. I mean, these are seriously huge things, so I wonder why Earth is considered so special, out of everything in the Universe. It makes you think.

Also, when we do become more technologically advanced to travel further in space, what do you think the implications could be, if we did find that these beings do not follow the same major religions as us, or anything at all.

There could be two reactions from this:

1) Religious leaders could attempt to convert them.

2) An increasing number of people may lose their faith in their religion, since it is assumed every living thing either follows it as well, or God is at least accepted across the Universe. If it is found that it isn't, that may cast doubts.

I don't feel people from this planet or others, could be ready to accept any different religions. Even the thought of considering alternatives, most religious people may not be able to, since its not something we're used to.

So, I hope that when we do eventually find life elsewhere, we would try to keep religion out of it, but I feel that this will happen regardless, if we decided to integrate.

Either way, things could get pretty complicated.

For a lot of religous people, I think they'll continue to be religous and the hardcore ones would try to convert them..

Hmm, but even if we do find life on other planets it's hard to know if we'll establish a common connection. They might live completely different from us and have a unique way to communicate so I don't even think religion would be a top priority at all

if they have advanced enough they would have grown up on having a religion.

if they were like us now, then they would still have a religion.

the universe is too big for us to be alone, we have been here in this planet for just about 200,000 years, the universe has been existing for about 14 billion years.

The only way there is no other planet in existence with life is if God really does exist and only put life on this rock we live on.

We live in the Milky Way galaxy. Our solar system has 9(mebbe) planets, not to mention all the moons. There are an estimated 100 BILLION planets in the Milky Way... there is another estimated 200 BILLION galaxies.

So that is 100 billion times 200 billion for possible number of planets in existence... and that again doesn't count moons.
