tvN drama is in a spot of trouble lately. Despite the good start, the drama has suddenly gone to the hills by deviating away from the original web-toon.

 

The viewers first, then the web-toon writer portrayed their complaints on blogs. Then Park Hae-jin's agency expressed its periphrastic problems on SNS. Then Park Hae-jin himself spoke honestly about the drama to OSEN.

 

About the ending, he said, "I don't know how the ending is going to be. I don't think there will be much of a difference unless the drama is made new. There can't be a sharp ending"....

 

 

Questions and answers with Park Hae-jin:

 

- There are episodes 15 and 16 left. What's the reaction to the ending going to be like?

"I don't know how the ending is going to be. There have been times when even the scenes we shot weren't broadcast so even if I did see the ending, I know it's not going to turn out great. I still wish it ends well as I am in this drama. Unless "Cheese in the Trap" is made new, there is no cutting-edge ending".

 

- Is the ending going to be different from the original?

"I remember hearing that when the agencies, production and broadcasting stations complained to the director about the story going the wrong way, the director said, "What's the problem? I'll speak to my actors and actresses. I am an actor who does what I'm told to do. What they decide to do is not my concern".

 

- Is it the new scenes that are the problem?

"He didn't even put in original scenes. I want to ask the director why he did that. I don't know how the drama is going to result in but I still want to know".

P/S:: I wonder how KGE is feeling? She really is one of the main character and it is her debut and now she's caught in this controversy. Come to think of it, both KGE and PHJ refused this project initially and casted doubts, but decided to do it.

 

Hope this won't affect her negatively and see that as a challenge. Can you perhaps help her under your wing, PHJ sunbae? Anyway hope you guys had a Good days ahead!

I know it's not going to turn out great... this controversy somehow makes viewers gets upsets for sure.

It'll like promoting/supporting the producer in a way when she's the core problem why there's controversy in the first place based on articles I've read. Well, that's it if the rating increases at the last 2 episodes.

I think PHJ still in bad terms with terms with the "pd team" since many of his scene get cut. He may didn't knew what scene got accepted and what scene got cut.

This drama is pre produced, they may changed since it said that SKJ character shoot more scene than he supposed to be.

The ending maybe an open ending like a continue relationship but his screen time already reduced too much to have a good ending

At this point viewers might think In Ho is the main character judging from how many scenes he got.I enjoy his scenes and Kang Joon's acting but I understand why PHJ fans and him are upset.I don't know what is going on inside those minds who decided to do this.I loved the first 10 eps but now I am struggling to press the play button.

Given the comments by the viewers about how the drama already simply dumps the main lead for the second lead after a positive start, i doubt this is an attempt to media play for ratings. Trying to do that with negative viewer reaction is obviously suicidal.

There are some production teams the record multiple endings so that no one in the cast or crew can spoil the ending definitely.

This is really messy. Remind me of another Kdrama east of eden where the first lead actress screentime got cut - in favour of the 2nd lead that the story line became so distorted and ended so poorly and utter confusion. It is waste of my time to follow it then.
