My friend love to listen to Big Bang songs but only for their music/beat and don't give a fuck about the lyrics because he don't understand korean.

He says the beat is dope so the lyrics just the extra for the music, it's like david guetta and calvin harris music people listen to their song because of the beat/music not because of the vocal/lyrics.

Teddy is awesome, but GD is the one who defines BIGBANG's colour. Not to mention, his own solo songs have his own thoughts and colours written all over them. Don't forget that Teddy also writes songs for 2NE1 and other YG artistes, so it's like literally every of his songs are hits. By that amount of success that he's gotten, he would easily be praised as the greatest producer in the world right now, but he isn't, because BIGBANG's music has BIGBANG's feels infused into it by GD. Teddy may come up with the foundation and groundwork, but GD does the rest, to make it on track into a song that suits and shouts BIGBANG. The parts are also given out by GD.

 

And your reasoning of your friend being 'special' for being someone who only cares about the music rather than the lyrics?.. I dare say majority of us K-poppers choose which songs they listen to in K-pop only based on music. Come on. Only when you love the song so much, will you go search up the lyrics. Before that, you all will be thinking 'Hmm.. this song is good' just based on its music alone.
