Pendulum To Reunite Live At Ultra 2016

Pendulum are reforming in all their live glory next year.

News of the month? For many fans this is news of the year. Last night the band’s Facebook page changed its cover to the image above. It coincided with Ultra announcing the first phase of their 2016 line-up which includes Pendulum Returns.

The key word being ‘returns’: as a DJ act, Pendulum have never gone away with El Hornet flying the furious flag since Rob Swire and Gareth McGrillen split to form Knife Party in 2011. However, after various public comments in interviews and on social media by Rob Swire stating how his heart wasn’t in it any more, many of us assumed Pendulum’s live operation – which, in its day, was incendiary and up there with The Prodigy for its energy and fusion – was history. Mercifully, we were wrong with Rob Swire legitimising the hype on Twitter last night.

The foundations for this were set when Rob Swire and Gareth McGrillen appeared with El Hornet at V Festival to DJ together as Pendulum for the first time in four years… That was incredible news but, even then, none of us imagined their live reunion would be on the cards so quickly. Perhaps this is why the Trigger Warning EP was held up for a while?

If this means new music, I'll be super happy. Even though The Prodigy sits in my throne of "fave electronic act", Pendulum are still massive for me.

Several Pendulum bops for the OneHallyu masses!!
