Both while lack in talent (they have excuses, one is an actress trainee and the other is a foreigner who trained for only 4 months) but have beauty and are appealing for their charisma and quirks. Don't get me wrong, Sohye gets a lot of hate too, but she doesn't seem to be close to Risa's level. And some Sohye supporters seem to be very much against Risa. I don't get it. The footage is shown in a way that makes you feel very bad for Sohye's out of place demeanor, but makes you angry at Risa for taking the spot of a talented trainee. Sohye is introduced and looks cute, but not much ability. Subsequent episodes revisit Sohye and show her struggling, but working hard. It's true that seeing her try her best is endearing but we all know that if she debuts she's going to get loads of hate for being talentless. She was able to tell her story and to be become that one who is fighting hard and that one who made everyone cry. She also got the help of the mosf popular trainee, who was super kind and nice to her and showed so much patience. So i guess it makes people root for her. Remembered when she keep messing the dance when Kahi is a trainer. while everyone so thrill and in fear, she just try to fix herself. She knew everyone watching her through mirror, and Kahi is mad. But she need to fix it, no need to cry, no need to shy just do it on your won. that's why I love her, or that's why people love her. coward 1,968 Posted February 20, 2016 Share Posted February 20, 2016 I've only watched up to episode 4 (I need subs), but the difference in how they are potrayed in their groups is major. The trainer was so proud of Risa for even knowing the lyrics at the rehearsal and being able to hear them fully when she was on stage. Meanwhile, Sohye brings the trainer to tears way earlier for staying up all night and getting her dance down. One is shown to be slow on the uptake while the other is shown to be quick, but seriously lacking in the training. it's not that surprising at all that Sohye is more popular. She was never trained to be an idol, the first time she ever performed a song was on the show. Her voice is already more stable than Risa's and she's probably gonna surpass her in dancing too. I dont see much potencial on her as I see on Sohye Risa meant to be just an entertainer(she use to be in a music video with Ryohei of RoomMate). the like of those who appear on variety show. mon chan 4,645 Posted February 20, 2016 Share Posted February 20, 2016 Risa is a foreigner, so it's a disadvantage, she's even still struggling with her Korean, and her stage is still too awkward to watch, mnet won't favor her way too much or the public would slap back at them. It's easier to build up some fairy tale on Sohye or Seoyoung even when all of them are flop in skills.
