How do those of you who live on-campus feel about it ? Do you love it, hate it? What is the most annoying aspect. Ofc it will vary from school to school as well as which dorm you stay in.

I am quite curious about how you guys feel. Even though I prob won't transfer for about 1 yr.

I didn't live on campus per se, but I lived in student dorms in the city for a year.

I hated it. First off 90% of the people were barely out their mothers birth canals and couldn't do a single thing by themselves. They let washing build up, didn't know how to cook, clean, take out a bin, etc.

If you gonna dorm, make sure the students contribute to the housework, otherwise you'll end up going crazy like me and throwing all their shit out the window.

Yea I know the feeling. Honestly if I have to live on campus I want a single room or just 1 person.. I do not want 4 useless people who are loud and annoying.

It's alright~ I mean I don't live in my home state so I have no choice, really~ I used to live damn near in the woods where my old dorm was, which was pretty annoying with all the new species of bugs I discovered exist~

Plus some goons pulled the fire alarm LITERALLY every other day the last few months living there~

But now I'm in a building again by civilization and it's good!  :meow:

Living on campus has it's ups and downs but I really liked it.  My first year at school I went home a lot because I didn't really mesh with my three other roommates, but I began a Resident Assistant (R.A.) so I got my own room and stopped going home so often.  But let me tell you some people just can't function without their parents which is kind of sad.  I was a R.A. for freshman for two years and some needed to get it together.

I'm home by myself most of time so Im pretty sure I can function w/o them. Only issue might be laundry since I haven't done my own in years.

It's a cool dorm but it's too expensive  :soul:

However, I'm closer to after school resources so I won't complain. The food here kinda sucks tho so I have to use my own cash instead of my dining money a lot of times.

The school I plan to transfer to is about 3 hrs away. so commuting is out of the question.  :._.:  :._.:

It's pretty expensive living in a dorm and the people I got are so trashy but I love them. The hard part was in the beginning I was so scared to poo lol. But I got use to them and I became comfortable with my roommates. Plus I had to learn how to use the laundry, since my parents would wash my clothes for me so that was the sad part.

Also you have to be careful when living with people,  my friend who use to live in the dorm her roommates took money from her, so don't always trust them...

Watch out for your roommate he/she is probably crazy. The ones I lived with were batshit crazy and socially awkward especially the ones from outside the country or foreigners. Most of them were filthy as fuck and nosy. Try to go with someone from your country(USA for me). I tend to have good experiences with them. But try to enforce some rules when you first meet each other like trash/cooking/private masturbation time/food shopping/etc. If you have the option to live alone like I did after living with batshit crazies do it because it's worth the extra money if you can afford it.

Haha, yeah laundry was hard for me at first.  I shrunk a lot of clothes on accident, so a tip would be not to leave your clothes in the drying too long lol

I lived in campus my first year of university (after that we had to go find your own housing off campus).

Had two amazing suitemates that later became my friends. The three of us would clean up after ourselves and keep our suite-style dorm nice and clean. I also went through two roommates--the first one was okay, but our personalities clashed and she suffered from anxiety disorder that I didn't know how to deal with (she was only there for one quarter, and then took the rest of the year off). The second roommate that Student Housing assigned me was horrible and a slob and my suitemates and I complained about her numerous times.

Short answer: overall it was pretty good and I made some amazing friends.

 Long answer:

I would definitely apply.  When I was going in, I was introverted but I wanted to break out of my shell, so that was one reason I did it and it really helped me (idk if you consider yourself an introvert/extrovert but it really helps you grow).  I was in a freshman dorm which was different from upper class men.  At my university, there was no alcohol aloud and the freshman were not really good at hiding that they were drinking which means a lot of paper work for you which sucked.  I learned to not function without sleep because most things that residents needed help with happened at 3am so that was great  :derp: .  Upperclassmen dorms didn't have to deal with a lot of incidents because they are generally more mature or at least better at hiding stuff.  It's a great job tho because you get to meet a lot of different people, coworkers, residents, Hall Directors or Advisors, from different backgrounds.  Also, if you're creative its good because you get to make bulletin boards, tags on the doors for residents, set up programs and such.

I lived on campus in first year like most people. It was good. The atmosphere will really depend on how sociable you are and the people around you are like. The best part of living on campus is definitely the distance LOL. You can go to class in 5 mins..And everything you ever need (most likely) is on campus so it's really convenient

I live 'on campus' but really half an hour away and honestly it's a lot better and more fun that living alone or off campus. There's always people around if you need something or if you're just lonely or anything like that

I like it. I live with my closest friends in a suite style dorm, which is 2 bedrooms connected by a bathroom. I like the convenience of living on campus especially since the traffic in our area is a literal nightmare. A lot of my off campus friends have a 45 minute drive to campus when, with no traffic, it's only a 15 minute drive. Really the only thing I don't like about living on campus is the meal plan/dining hall, but we plan on living in a dorm with a kitchen next year so it won't be a problem for much longer.

The only benefits of living in campus are less costly especially when comparing house rent with dorm fees and the fact that campus dorms are closer to the campus/classes. Not fancy the idea of 4 people living together with the noise from other rooms and having to wait to use showers
