if the mama, gda, melon, ect awards are irrelevant why do fans get bothered so easily?

every year, all i see is people saying how these award shows dont matter cuz theyre rigged and whatnot

 

but then people complain with their faves dont win...

Because it is relevant. Just as how America  has Billboard Music Awards, and AMAs, and Grammys etc...it means sumn when an artiste wins these things. So ppl can blab about irrelevance all they want..

Being rigged, made to give awards to attendees, weird winners etc != irrelevant.

 

The oscars are very well known and respected. Even if they gave twilight the best picture award, regardless of how/why it got if, it's still one of the biggest film award shows in America and the world and the award will still stand. Similarly stuff like MAMA, GDA etc are the biggest award shows of Korea, hence their impact in terms of media representation/viewership and history. .

I don't really think it's because people are stupid, per se.. It's just the psychology of it all. People tend to play off something as not a big deal when they're group/artist isn't doing well, but suddenly it's a huge deal when they are ahead. This can work the other way around, as well. Depends on the thought process of an individual.

Because a win is a win. You cannot expect fans to just ignore and NOT celebrate because supposedly the award their biases got were deemed as "irrelevant" by others. It still adds to their favorite group/s or artist/s profile.

Ten years down the line, when so-and-so are said to be the best of their generation, they'll have the award to back it up, and there won't be many people around to dispute it.

Because you can see who deserves the award by just looking at physical/digital sales, impact on the general public, Youtube views etc.

 

So the awards  based on fan vote or attendance are deemed irrelevant. People will still want to see their faves win /see if other undeserving group wins so they can cheer/complain.
