At the final show of their 2013 WILLPOLIS Tour at Nippon Budokan, pop-rock band BUMP OF CHICKEN announced that they would be releasing a new studio album for the first time in over 3 years.  The album, their 7th, will be titled "RAY" and will include all of the new songs that they've released over the past 3 years; this includes:  Tomodachi no Uta, Smile, Zero, Good Luck, firefly, Niji wo Matsu Hito, and a new song that they played for the first time at their Budokan shows titled "ray".  The album will consist of 13 tracks in total and will be released in late January 2014.

I'm SO excited for this!  They're long overdue for a new studio set, and I'm happy to see that they decided to wait until after December to release it.  Gives me time to save money.  :3

I'm curious, why do they call themselves 'Bump Of Chicken' ?

The band members have known each other since they were in Kindergarten - they decided that they wanted to be in a band very young, so they also made the name when they were very young.  They'd intended to call themselves something like "The Coward's Attack", but mistranslated and instead got "Bump (Attack) of Chicken (Coward)".  The name just stuck after that, so they kept it.

I'm really interested to see how everything fits together.  Also wondering which version of Smile they'll end up using.  xD

I'm going for the shorter ver. I just don't have enough patience lol tho the Zero ver was flawless too
