'X-Men: Days of Future Past' Official Trailer #1 (2014)

*This trailer is more of a "character piece" since the SFX department is not done with the special effects yet so don't expect to see much action sequences in this trailer*

Matthew Vaughn (directed "X-Men: First Class") is involved in this so this movie should be decent at least. And don't forget that Bryan Singer directed the first 2 X-Men movies aka the good X-Men movies.

The X-Men ensemble fights a war for the survival of the species across two time periods in X-Men: Days of Future Past. The characters from the original X-Men film trilogy join forces with their younger selves from X-Men: First Class in a battle that must change the past – to save their future.

The cast features characters from the original trilogy of X-Men films and the prequel X-Men: First Class.

I despise what the X-Men has been turned into. The origin story is completely inaccurater and so many characters are being shoved in just for the sake of it - wtf was Tempest doing in X-Men First Class?! I'm not going to watch this - I'm going to forget it even exists.

This is my major issue with the x-men movies, they've completely destroyed the stories that were originally written years ago, there are literally thousands of stories they could take from the comics but instead they mish/mash stories and include things that didn't happen.

Take this movie for instance, if memory serves it's Kitty Pryde who is meant to go back in time but instead, just because he's popular, they're using Wolverine.

I mean, the first 2 X-Men movies were tolerable canon wise, but after that everything made me want to rip my hair out. It isn't actually that hard to adapt a comic book story into a film whilst leaving the canon relatively accurate - look at what Joss Whedon did with the Avengers! I mean, the story is already set out with you in storyboard form, all they have to do is cut out the uneccessary parts and adapt the dialogue for screen. I honestly hate Wolverine because he's in everything lol.

Omg I was almost off my seat, I'm so excited for this idc if its not exactly like the comics not everything has to be exact. Only issue is Wolverine being used to go to the past.

Yes, it's Kitty who goes back in the comic (and holy crap that storyline is so old that Kitty was still codenamed Sprite!).

Although I can't really blame them for using Wolverine; Kitty was barely a blip of a character in the previous movies, and Wolverine is pretty well established as a box office draw (I think even the godawful first origin movie* made decent money).

*The Merc with a Mouth... with no mouth? COMIC BOOK BLASPHEMY!

Plus his backstory is already established within the movie universe, so he's their best bet for a primary character. They'll have enough to do with all new characters and getting them enough screen time to do more than establish their powers. I am happy Singer's going with some old-school X-Men for this. (Love Blink, Bishop is a key player, Sunspot and Warpath are bonus awesome. Having just re-read through the House of M stuff... Quicksilver is going to get this look :soul:  every time he's on screen.)

There's also... well, Marvel likes its multiverse and endless versions of Earth. It's an easy out for them to simply say this is DoFP on Earth #whatever because 616 has its own past/present/future and this movie isn't about Earth 616 (the general X-Men canon version of Earth).

Not enough Dinklage in the trailer. XD

I don't know shit about the X-Men, but I could watch it just because the (P)Imp's one of the villains. If the movie's actually good, of course; but I don't think it will be good, since you are all hating on it already...
