Kpop can be such an expensive hobby

I've spent quite a bit of money on Kpop (ok lbr, on Exo) just in the year and a half or so I've been into it.

Exo Concert: $210

Kor & Chi versions of Exodus + posters: $50 (the shipping on those "free" posters is expensive btw. never again)

Love Me Right Repackage: $15

A Xiumin shirt: $15

Also, I went to an Apink concert: $120

Total: $410!!! And I still have so many things on my "want to buy" list  :rlytearpls:

I know there are fans who buy way more stuff than me, and I can't imagine how much fans who have been buying kpop stuff for years and/or buy for multiple groups have spent.

This is nowhere near as expensive as my bf's video game hobby though. He always buys the new Playstation AND Xbox. Like that's $1000 plus the $60 games.  :derp: But to be fair, those don't come out every year...

At least you can go to their concerts. I'm stuck here and can't even attend one  :rlytearpls:

I usually can't either. I just got lucky that I moved to LA right before they came. If they ever come back, I'll most likely be gone.

I hope you can go to a concert one day, though!

i cant even afford a chicken nugget how u spendin that much money

Same

Tbh, I put both of the concert tickets on a credit card and I'm slowly paying them off  :._.:

For the other stuff, I had a pretty good paying job for a couple of years before I moved to LA. I'm broke now tho lol

Yes but entirely more affordable of a hobby than my photography/videography lol. In the last year I have spent probably 6K on it and I am just getting started lol. I am in the market right now for a gimbal/stabilizer which is gonna cost over a grand likely, and a few more lenses which go from $300-$3000+

The good hing about photography is though, as long as I take care of all my stuff i will have to buy less and less stuff every year.

But I am a working adult so....maybe it hurts less haha. I can empathize with spending a lot on music when you are a student and limited income, haha.

yeah but I enjoy it...I like collecting albums, merchandise, and chanyeol photocards

I like collecting photocards too. I guess it is hard for exo fan to collect whole group though. Especially when some ex-member one are so expensive sometimes.. I wanted to collect Taemin but everyone always bid so high on his.  :rlytearpls:  :rlytearpls: . For people like Kai I bet it can get expensive af.

Photography seems like a cool hobby.

Yea, I was a working adult before I came back to school and I am missing that steady income. I'm so ready to go back to work and get paid haha

Wow, you're such a good fan. I can't imagine buying stuff for every single group I like. I'd go into debt haha

it really is enjoyable. it's so great when that stuff comes in the mail. and seeing them live is definitely worth the money.

i havent spent a cent on kpop tbh

sometimes ppl are like...ur not real fan/u should be supporting ur fav if you really like them. but i'm like...i'm way too stingy ab money to even risk buying online bc if i'm about to spend money on an album, its gonna be physical copy. and sometimes i'm looking at pictures online (like of photocards and stuff) and i'm like 'i want that' but i dont trust ppl with my money like that, sis.

I buy mostly got7 stuff but my 3 groups I really love is got7, seventeen & monsta x so I try to get their albums. Only annoying thing is shipping for albums.  :rlytearpls:  :rlytearpls:

what do you mean you don't trust people? there is plenty of reputable sites to buy albums from.
