Iranian Musicians Possibly Facing Execution For Playing Metal

Nikan Siyanor Khosravi and Khosravi Arash Chemical Ilkhani, of the Iranian band, Confess, have both been arrested by the Army of the Guardians of the Islamic Revolution and are facing charges of blasphemy, advertising against the system, running an illegal and underground band and record label promoting music considered to be Satanic, writing anti-religious lyrics and granting interviews to forbidden foreign radio stations. These serious charges resulted in the two band members, aged 23 and 21 sitting in solitary [confinement] since last November until finally making bail on February 5th, paying the equivalent of $30,000 US.

The musicians are lawyering up and could face a minimum of six months to six years in prison, and worse, if they are found guilty of the blasphemy charge, they could be executed! Unfortunately, it might very well be possible that they could be charged with blasphemy, considering the content of some of their songs such as, I Am Your God.

The band's new album, In Pursuit of Dreams, also features tracks titled "New World Order," "Teh-Hell-Ran" (a play on words of the Iranian capital Tehran), "The Alphabet Of Power" and "5 Years In A Cave." It was released on the group's own label, Opposite Records.

The government has allegedly seized all of their personal online accounts, including e-mail and Facebook, although as of this writing their profile on Facebook is still active.

After reading this article, I listened to their music, and I feel so emotionally stirred to discover such a beautifully talented band of people who were brave enough to produce a powerful and cogent message. It's heartbreaking to know that they had to be persecuted for taking a stand against society. I hope they can somehow see justice.

Islam is peace

before you come here get your facts right, Iran is not exactly an 'islamic' country, it is Shi'ist, it doesn't follow Sunnah, they have different things in their own 'islam' which are  considered wrong in the righteous Sunnah ideology. Also the 'religion' in itself is not to be brought, it's the country and its occlusive laws as to ban such a thing. and moreover, the music is said to be anti-religious, which might obviously create a controversy, but the laws imput in this country, and not religion, are what are a bit too much in this case

I was once an apologist for Islam that the actions of a few did not represent the belief of the many. However as i dove into the religion I found one glaring flaw. The call to violence. That call is repeated over and over and over again. Sure their are peaceful Muslims, but that is evermore becoming a mute point.

Just look at the link... Pleaaassseeee

Its frightening for all non Muslims even Muslims of a different sect
