Could this be a sign that YG's new girl group is debuting soon, or is it just plain sexism?

CJE&M is having two trainee shows. One being Produce 101 which is the female trainee show that is currently on now. And the other being Boys24 which is the male trainee show that will come on after Produce 101.

YG didn't let his female trainees on Produce 101, meanwhile YG is letting his male trainees on Boys24.

Seeing as YG's new girl group was suppose to debut since 2012, could none of the female trainees being on Produce 101 be a sign that YG is about to debut a new girl group? Or is it YG's usual self and sexism not letting their female acts get more shine?

I don't think he wants another Sua to happen!

Also, SM didn't let their female trainees on Produce 101 but are letting their male trainee's on BOYS 24! I didn't see you posting about that!

I think the girl group is planned tho!

SM has SMrookies though, so at least they get to be exposed as it is.

But yeah I think it could be a sign that the new girl group is debuting soon.

well sm along with yg are participating in the show even-though they didn't take part in produce 101 i guess because they didn't expect produce 101 to turn out being pretty popular so now they are probably sending their male trainees on boys24 in hope this show gets pretty popular like produce 101 for exposure.

and why do people keep bring up sua's case on uprs, everyone gets hate at some point...

After what happened with sua i doubt YG wants to expose his female rookies like this again.

it's not like what happened with Sua was that bad tho, sure she got some negative comments but remember that NB mostly translated the bad ones, at least she learned from the experience.

sua wasnt that bad

sua wasnt that bad

Exactly, she was even #4 place on a show that had 14 contestants on it which is an excellent achievement.

survival shows aren't the only sort of exposure. not only was sua on UR but jisoo has been in a drama, mvs, had at least one photo shoot, jennie was in gds video and song, hanna was on an epik high and jinusean track and video, lisa has been promoting with nona9on...

so yeah not being on survival=/= not being promoted.

but i do hope this means i get to see lisa soon.

Not that I'm agreeing with anybody right here, but at least SM has made it clear that a boy group will be up next and they usually give attention to the girls when it's their turn too (SM goes in an order anyways with 2-ish year gaps in between). But yes I think that a girl group is planned too, however I do agree with OP that he's delaying them too much.

maybe it's just cos yg isn't comfortable in throwing his girls into a show with 101 girls because it's obvious mnet will fuck them over when they can't even edit a show with smaller numbers

however, 24 kids is still more feasible so yg is ok with sending the boys

YG most likely didnt participate in Producer 101 because he can. Him participating in the other one is also because he can.

Doubt it's anything related to sexism, i mean SM did the same thing too, are they also sexist? Where are the whiners for them?

If you have followed the NGG, the lineup seems to have been set for awhile now. Maybe YG wants to keep them under the wrap? I mean if you have followed them, you would also know that YG is very tight lip on their process, debut, etc. Companies can choose.

Yeah, that's my thought. I mean, are you going to traumatize your girls by sending them into a show where you have to fight for screen time against 101 other girls? I mean, YG is big, but still, this show is just all about the drama. And the end pay-off doesn't even work for YG, since the final group of victors will be managed by another agency.
