YOONGI 6,021
Jamie and SangMi, right? I already know Mirim, Mei and Minnie since they are very distinct-looking. These two just look similar to me although I know Jamie is in the blue skirt.
YOONGI 6,021
Tint “Jealous of Lee Mirim? She’s more like a big source of strength†[interview] Contrary to other girl groups, Tint doesn’t have the concept of a ‘main vocalist’ as seen in their “Love at First Sight†performance. Tint, who recently met with OSEN explained that the member whose voice fits a certain part will sing it. This way, they can show various images in the future. "The fact that we don’t have a main vocal is a distinct feature [of our group]. Having a main vocal shouldn’t mean that one person sings the whole song. No matter the song, it should be a system where the members sing what they can handle. Also, in the future when we have more albums released, because we don’t have a main vocal I think people will be able to say, ‘This has a different vibe’. When deciding who will sing a part in a song, rather than being greedy, thinking we have to have that part, I think we give it to the member we think can bring life to that part." (Mei) Lee Mirim stated that because of her members who boosted her confidence, she was able to make it through the pressure. Because of the spotlight pouring down on Lee Mirim, you might think the members are jealous of her, but they say that they feel secure and strong thanks to her. "At first I felt really pressured. Since many people may have been looking forward to me [debuting] and because there was the possibility of harsh comments and bad reactions towards me, it was difficult in the beginning. But I decided to think positively. Rather than thinking about doing well, I thought about working hard and having a good time with it. The members also supported me a lot so the burden decreased. It’s possible for them to be jealous, but they come to me saying they are thankful [for me]. ‘Even if you’re the only one who gets attention, drag us along with you. If the situation is somehow reversed, we will drag you along.’ This ignited a strong desire to work even harder." (Mirim) "We’re strong because we have Mirim. I also think that because she has experience, there’s lots of things we can learn from her. The reason a team exists is to fill in the parts others lack. As we form this kind of team and gain strength I think we will fall if divided [united we stand, divided we fall]. If we debut and one person receives the spotlight we should wait our turn and give a lot of support and strength to that person." (Mei) "Although we have a cute side, we also have a masculine side. We really admire Lee Hyori sunbaenim who is good at portraying that side. We have a lot to learn from her. We also want to break the thought that we should continue with the same concept we are doing now in the future. Rather than staying the same, we want to show progress." YOONGI 6,021
Tint Lee Mirim “I’m really close with actress Go Won Hee†Unexpected Personal Connections It has been disclosed that Lee Mirim is best friends with actress Go Won Hee. Lee Mirim of SBS ‘KPOP Star Season 2’, who debuted in 5 member girl group TINT, recently had an interview with Newsen in which she disclosed her close relationship with Go Won Hee. Go Won Hee appeared in JTBC drama ‘War of Flowers’. Lee Mirim graduated from Hanlim Arts High School just like Dal Shabet Subin, T-ara Areum, F(x) Krystal and more. Even amongst celebrity alumni, Go Won Hee showed acting skill that was unlike that of a rookie in ‘War of Flowers’. Lee Mirim and Go Won hee have been close since they were young. Lee Mirim revealed, "There are lots of celebrities at our school. Amongst actors, I am close with Go Won Hee who appeared in ‘War of Flowers’. She is a friend that I’ve been close with ever since middle school." Celebrity runs through Lee Mirim’s veins as her older sister participated in the 2013 Miss Korea contest. Lee Mirim stated, "My sister made it to the finals, but it didn’t work out". Meanwhile Mei, Sangmi, Mirim, Jamie, and Minnie who make up TINT have released their debut song, 'Love at First Sight'. The song, composed by Nam Gisang, is a lively and fresh song with an electronic melody. Source: Nate Transation by JW@tint-trans Please do not take out without proper credit. YOONGI 6,021
@Tint_Official: November 3rd, today at Inkigayo, Tint's performance is scheduled to be televised. Unexpectedly, we had many people apply, so it seems only some of those who applied will be able to get in. I am apologizing in advance. @Tint_Official: After the broadcast there is a Mini Fanmeeting scheduled to celebrate Tint's debut and Minnie's birthday. Those who didn't get into the broadcast are able to come, as well, so don't be too disappointed if you are told you can't get in. I hope many of you participate. YOONGI 6,021
'Debut' Rookie Girl Group TINT "Will you fall in love at first sight?" [interview] Feeling fresh. [These girls have] bright smiles that are as refreshing as the after taste of lemon juice. Five member rookie girl group, Tint, wear 5 various colored items of clothing and are receiving attention in the world of singers. Mei (19 - Hwang Cheon Mi), Sangmi (19 - Lee Sangmi), Mirim (18 - Lee Mirim), Jamie (18 - Choi Yoon Jin), and Minnie (17 - Im Min Hee) make up the 5 member girl group ambitiously put together by new agency, GH Entertainment. The team name, Tint, has the meaning of "To put color" in English. They aspire to paint the music industry with their own unique color. On a chilly, windy day in October, the 5 rookie girls have a fresh debut ahead of them. "Debuting isn't something that comes easily. We will probably be able to really feel the fact that we've debuted after we've been in front of the camera a lot, right? I think our strongest point is probably our unconditional hard work. In the future we'd like to show the public a good final product and also be able to work hard without being embarrassed of ourselves." (Mei) Tint received unusual attention from music fans before debut as Lee Mirim was a part of SBS popularity audition program 'KPOP Star Season 2' as a member of the group YOUU last August. "The 'KPOP Star' writer recommended [my current] company to me. When I met with the company representative for the first time, the conversation just flowed. I had to mesh with the group in a short amount of time, so the sense of burden I felt grew, but because of the members' consideration, there weren't any difficulties." (Mirim) The other members also have unique backgrounds. Jamie received attention for her outstanding appearance in a large global company's advertisement [T/N: Samsung] and Sangmi learned to sing when she was young in the Incheon Seogulib Choir. Mei, who is half Chinese, acquired Korean citizenship 3 years ago to pursue her dream of becoming a singer. Although she spent her childhood in her father's hometown in China, because her mother is Korean she is proficient in both Chinese and Korean. The team's leader has always been good at speaking and even won first place in the China Gil Lim Sung nationwide oratory competition. "Each member has a different charm. Just like we all have different charms, each song is different and the person who fits it the best will be different, too. Because of this, we haven't picked out a main vocal. This is how we distinguish ourselves from other girl groups." (Mei) The first song Tint has presented to the public is 'Love at First Sight'. This song was composed by Nam Gisang who also gave birth to other hit songs such as 'Twinkle Twinkle' and 'Expectation' by Girls Day. 'Love at First Sight' is a fresh, lively, electronic song that suits the members who are in their late teens. "The feelings of a girl falling in love matches our age. It's a cute song that embodies freshness. If you listen to the song while watching our performance, you might end up falling in love at first sight." (Minnie) During Tint's time as trainees they often imagined standing onstage and endured a lot of hardships. They were determined, climbing up one step at a time in order to receive acknowledgement. "We want to become a group who supplements our weaknesses and is always cultivating our strengths. To the public, we probably have many things we lack, however, we will be a humble Tint who is continually improving, and never satisfied with our position [not stagnant]." YOONGI 6,021
Average age of 18.2 Girl Group Tint, “We also want to be like Lee Hyori†[interview] An average age of 18.2, these fresh teenagers have thrown their collective hat into the ring of the music industry. Tint, the ambitiously prepared group from GH Entertainment, is composed of 5 members: Leader Mei, Sangmi (19), Mirim, Jamie (18) and Minnie (17). Their fresh and lively appearance reminds one of APink at their debut, but the reversal is their stand-out vocal ability which has become a topic through 'Love at First Sight'. ◇ Lee Mirim from KPOP Star 3 “Debuting side by side with Shin Ji Hoon is amazing.†Among the members, she has a memorable face. She is Lee Mirim who took part in KPOP Star Season 2 last year. Lee Mirim was in a 5 member group on the show called YouU who made it all the way to the Top 8 and had a powerful impact. "Last March, several months after the show ended, I joined Tint as the last member. That's how I came to formally debut. At the Top 6, YouU was pitted against Shin Ji Hoon and got eliminated. Shin Ji Hoon also recently debuted as a solo, as well. It seems like a tremendous fate." Participating in the audition program and the current feeling of debuting as a pro must be pretty different? "I don't think it's all that different. [The audition show] was the foundation, but I will work hard thinking of now as the beginning." Excluding Lee Mirim, the other members each passed an audition and went through a lot together over 2 years, preparing for debut. Leader, Mei, was born from a Chinese father and a Korean mother. She lived in China until middle school then came to Korea to achieve her dream of becoming a singer. "I grew up in Yanji, China and there were a lot of Koreans so I grew up watching Korean dramas and listening to Korean music. 'Daejanggeum' was really popular then. I was away from my mom for a long time in Korea because of my studies. I passed the audition and ended up entering the company." Jamie, whose hometown is Jeonbok Gunsan, became a singer while performing as the vocalist in band club in high school. "I told my parents about wanting to go to the Seoul audition by express bus on my own and that I'd already taken the test and passed. They said, 'YOU did?' not believing me. Haha. Nevertheless, I kept pestering them and eventually got permission." ◇ Role model, Lee Hyori “[she gives off a] powerful feeling on stage, we want to be like that, too.†Last week Tint appeared in front of the public for the first time starting with MBC Music Show Champion, then KBS2 Music Back and MBC Show! Music Core. They will also be having a live streaming interview with the largest Hallyu site, Allkpop.com, as rising K-Pop Stars. The cute choreography for 'Love at First Sight' is just as mesmerizing as the song is catchy. The choreography is full to the brim with feelings of young girls [towards love]. "You'll know if you take a look at the album jacket, but [we are depicting] girls who are enjoying a pajama party. From the choreography that reminds one of a hairband, to the rabbit dance, to the hide-and-seek/childhood games motif, it's a choreography that can remind one of past memories. Our members are on the younger side so we wanted to freshly portray those things." (Mei) The company is located in the vicinity of Seoul Mapo-Gu and the dorms in Seong San Dong where they've lived for 2 years. They learned how to become close like sisters and have fun together. Lee Mirim, "The members really like dancing. Not just plain dancing, but what we call amongst ourselves, 'Gag Dancing'. We'll have to show it sometime if we get a change to go on an entertainment program." (Laughing) "Jamie looks cold, but on the inside she is very easy going and carefree. Her personality is a reversal and her charms are endless. (Mei)", "I'm in charge of energy. Haha. I have the type of personality that powers through positively in difficult situations. I'm also in charge of the kitchen, so I enjoy serving breakfast. (Mirim)", "Amongst the cleaning chores I'm responsible for the floors. Ah, are they clean? Well, I've organized them. I'm AB blood type so I'm on the meticulous side and also the type to fret over things by myself. (Mei)", "Sangmi unnie looks very girly and sweet, but unexpectedly she is a person who is very firm about what's right and wrong. If one of the members is having a difficult time they'll find a post-it saying 'Cheer up!' stuck to their bedside. She has the personality of an older sister. (Minnie)", "I'm the youngest in the team. Shall I take the role of being a person full of talent? I take care of the laundry, but the unnies always point it out if the clothes are inside out. (Minnie)" With one voice, Tint chose Lee Hyori as their role model. Lee Hyori debuted in 1998 and has held a spot as a top star for 15 years. Tint stated they wanted to emulate her power. "Lee Hyori sunbae gives off a really powerful feeling onstage. We think she's so cool. A program that the five of us enjoyed together was cable OnStyle 'Lee Hyori X-Sister'. It seemed like she was easy-going and had a lot of individualism in real life, as well. We want to emulate that kind of image as singers."
