No offense but that was obvious....it's an Asian country. Female pres or not

China ranks 69

Vietnam ranks 73

Phillipines ranks 5

Countries with less developed economies and with less overall education rank higher than South Korea and Japan.

I know this is a serious matter, but I just have to laugh at the absurdity (not at the report but at the gap in Korean society)

Japan isn't doing that much better either

As you can see on the country report on page 244-245, that terrible ranking is driven by the situation in politics.

Health and education is more or less completely equal.

I'm not really surprised, if I have to be honest. But they are improving, aren't they? Hopefully. Also, what caught me by surprise is that we here in Scandinavia/The North seem to be doing pretty well. Prft. Without being an obnoxious feminist, it doesn't always feel that way.

Of course, the gender gap isn't completely gone.

arent women expected to quit theyre job when they become pregnant

I heard that they're pressured after a certain age to quit if they're in a relationship ("Go get married. Have children. etc.")

The report shows the countries in relation to another rather than the face value since that is pretty hard to measure on broad quantitative values.

Precisely. That's what I'm going on about; the difference between the rankings and then how the citizens themselves feel about the matter. Naturally, it alters.
