Originally a project designed and published in allkpop with an outstanding reception from netizens, [MY VOCAL ANALYSIS] is designed as an alternative for people who wants to learn about vocal terminology without it being too "technical" in where, as the title says, there will be vocal analyses of most k-pop vocalists / singers in a more easy terminology, in order to make it very simple to read and understandable for the reader.


 


The title "My Vocal Analysis" was chosen because it is me who makes the entire analyses, based solely in my experience as a vocalist with some help from fellow friends / people who know about vocal terminology and vocal technique as well. You might be wondering, who am I to analyse someone vocally? I am not an expert because I did not study to be a professional vocalist or a vocal coach, but I have been taking vocal lessons since 5 years ago and I read books about vocal terminology such as Bel Canto: A Theoretical and Practical Vocal Method (in english) and L' Art du Chant (in french).

The method is very simple, as I try to make things as easy as possible. I will point out the idol's weaknesses and strenghts, as well as the development of the three registers (chest voice, mixed voice and head voice). The analysis will be based solely on technical abilities, although subjective matters might be mentioned (as the vocalist's voice color, the people's reception, etc).

NEW: Due to the popularity of the current my vocal analysis series, the staff (me) decided to expand the project overseas and make a new section called my vocal analysis: international to just analyse those vocalists who are not south korean! The terminology will be the same as the one listed above for the K-Pop artists and the criteria is the same as well.


 


You can always check them out to compare your favorite K-Pop artists with other countries' singers our if you are a fan of another countries' artist you might find this interesting as well!

Just a question how is this different to the vocal thread? Will you analyse everyone even if they're not main vocals?

 

Two separated projects but yeah I will do non-main vocalists as well lol, that might be the biggest difference.

Don't we already have the Vocal Thread who write analyzes? :derp:
