[...] Styles, who has nearly 16 million followers on Instagram, posted a photo of traditional Burmese boxer, Saw Zaw Lwin, that Scagnetti captured in May 2006. Styles posted the photo without any credit or permissions, which if you visit his Instagram page, you'll find is something of a trend.

When Scagnetti found out about the offending image, which was approaching one million "likes" after 15 hours of being online, he posted to his Facebook page to share his frustrations. What happened next is pretty disappointing for all photographers.

What's with the comment saying without Harry, the photography is nothing>.>?

Do kids think that idols are the richest and most influential man on earth and pro photographers are poor beggars on the street? Talk about being delusional

I always wonder why some celebrities don't give credit to the artwork they're posting...

Wouldn't it be awesome to put some awareness on the artist of the art you love just oh so much? (lbh some of these people just want to look artsy)

Plus you can differentiate between your work and theirs.

why not put a huge fucking watermark over your photo if you need the world to know you took that photo?

Are you kidding me now?

That photo is taken with alot of cost, like model price, travel price, camera price.

Not like 12 year olds capture photos for free.

You can't just distribute the photos. Like what value it has to be sold to magazine when the image has been revealed large scale by an idol in an instragram.

Like where ever Styles found the photo, just let the photo be there. Why spread it on a place it shouldn't?

like if we all found a picture we like on Reader's digest. Do we scan it then put it on our instagram?

if the photographer really cared about notoriety and money more than sharing his art he should have added a watermark over the whole photograph. he's a fucking idiot, i hope this serves as a learning experience for him.

But if he (example) sells it to Reader's digest, of course the photo in the magazine won't have watermark.

But it was an unspoken rule that photo is where it belongs. Like if you see wedding photo online, do you post the wedding photo elsewhere?

Watermark is just for tumblr users. Normal expensive photos don't have watermark, you just not supposed re-post it.
