Why do people who follow Produce 101 think talent is the only thing that matters?

It's good to have and want talented members, and if that's what you want to solely focus on for who you want in then that's fine. But people like that shouldn't get on others who like and support girls who aren't  extremely talented.

 

Talent isn't all that matters. It's also important to want girls with visuals, personality, charisma, star quality, and more. These things are needed in a girl group (and group in general) too.

 

This topic was mainly made for those who are anti-Sohye. Yeah she may not be strong in the singing/dancing aspect (she is an actress trainee after all), but she is still cute and has an funny interesting personality. Also her and Sejeong (another contestant) friendship makes her even more liked. Some may not realize it, but she definitely adds something to the group.

 

Also she has improved a lot throughout the show and there have only been 4 episodes so far.

You don't have to like her, but please don't get on others when they want to vote for her. And instead of putting so much time being against her, just support your favs.

I don't like her nor do I want her in the group but I sadly agree with what you're saying. In a industry and nation that puts looks>>> talent, what do people expect? Especially when looks is whats going to get you fans, money and get you far in the industry. I'd rather my favs be put in a group full of people who are pretty and do extremely well then be put in a group with everyone who is extremely talented but never get far. 

 

People are forgetting, kpop is not a music industry it's the idol industry. Idols don't have to be good at dancing, singing or rapping. The reality is being good at those things won't get you the most fans.

i still don't want sohye in the group, that's my personal opinion., but the whole "this show is a popularity contest and it sucks!" statement irks me to no end. like, the entire industry is a popularity contest! you don't sell unless you're popular and literally no amount of vocal talent can automatically guarantee someone's success.

I didn't say that though. Looks and personality aren't the only things that matter. All 3 and more are important. The point is that one aspect isn't all that matters, it's good to want all aspects in a group. 

 

The other point towards anti-Sohye people who argue with people who like and support Sohye is that she does offer something to the group even if her talent lacks, which is why she is so loved in the first place.

i don't care tbh... but i feel sorry for the talented trainees who'll never get the chance to debut because people are busy  looking for pretty/cute girls with no talent  :._.:

 

Yeah but again this isn't a talent show, the entire industry isn't a talent show. It's a show that finds trainees from different companies to make a group with members that appeal to people the most.

 

There are many underrated talented girls, but there are also many underated pretty girls too. No one is going to care about a talented girl if they aren't interesting, same goes for a pretty girl (although I admit to a lower extent, but still).

 

Also the ones who are voted for a lot are very talented. The top girls aren't just there because they are pretty.

But, it is, just look groups like spica, nine muses, rainbow, hello venus, dal shabet, etc, they have great songs, but not crazy popular members, and just recently, look at twice, don't get mad with the comparison, but look at tzuyu, she made the group just for the popular vote

I DO get you, being fan from talented groups that are not popular, is painful to watch some trendy idol snatch all the spotlights, and yes this Kpop industry is like that.

For the record, i do prefer talented idols, better yet, talented, funny and smart idols

I feel bad for them but they're not even the main victims here, the main victims are girls who don't have any talent and are pretty or have personality and actually want to be idols

 

Not to come on an idol show to steal a spot and gain attention to debut as an actress

yeah but it would be funny if the girl doesn't  even want to become an idol (since she's an acting trainee obviously ) and is probably doing this just to get her name out there  :lol: 

i wouldn't  want her to take someone's place (who might  actually be passionate about that) in that case tbh

Yeah I understand your point. Although she did say that she wanted to make the group and even practiced on her free time. 

 

I believe that she is dedicated enough. :)
