The Boxing Of Men and Women In Modern Society

Cloud Of Perception

Recommended Posts

In this thread I discussed multiple things but all are rooted in the mainstream boxing of men and women.

Is the ignoring of male victims rooted in sexism? I have noticed a lot of people who don't take male victims seriously have this ideology that a woman can have no way to assault a man.  I have also seen quite a large amount of females and men say that putting any attention on male victims would be taking attention away from female victims therefore they chose to ignore it but my thinking is why exactly is it that male victims have to be shunned in order to focus on only females isn't this counterproductive, why aren't there any hotlines for males, why do a lot of people still to this day think that a woman is always the victim no matter what.

There was recently a case where a man in England was accused of sexual assault of a woman in her 60s at a subway station.  The video below showcases the incident, as you could see the man simply walked passed her while he had both of his hands full and yet he still was taken to court and if it wasn't for the common sense of the jury this man would have been branded a label he did not deserve for life yet his identity was revealed while the woman is still protected by the law.

If equality is truly the goal how exactly will it be achieved if one sex is ignored.  A female teacher was charged with the raping of a 14 year old boy, now apparently it was consensual so a lot of males and females reacted in a way where the boy was somehow lucky to be able to "score" with such an attractive female and that he was ungrateful for reporting her  :imstupid: now switch the script and there is no way in blue hell that someone would be able to get away with saying that a female student was lucky to score an attractive male teacher and btw she never faced ANY jail time whatsoever, so why is a 14 year old boy suddenly have the brain capacity of an adult when the offender is a female, why do people insist on excusing her but at the same would never be done if he was a female or if the teacher was a man.

Beyond just this, there is also the fact that on average males serve longer sentences for the same crime, there are still very little to none male battered shelters in the US and men are still the ones who would be forced to enlist in many countries, there are mandatory rape teaching courses in universities across the land for males.  Why is this still a recurring theme and why do people think talking about male issues is going to automatically take away from female issues, why can't we do both without downplaying the other.

Also kind of OT but it still relates to the main point of boxing women and men into certain ways of thinking and feeling.  The mainstream idea that a woman living in the west is lower then a man is something that no facts could support.  On average woman in their late 20s and late 30s make more money then their male counterparts in the same job in the US and the UK and very recently the same is happening for women in their 40s as well, for the first time in history woman outnumber the amount of men in the work force and the infamous gender pay gap has many severe flaws and one is that it takes into account ALL women and men working ALL jobs without taking into account number of hours worked and time taken off. Another factor would be overall since men usually enter fields that pay more like engineering and the sciences while more women enter teaching and other jobs of the sort it's only natural they earn more.   There have been many campaigns to get more women to enter STEM fields but attendances are still low since a lot of women are simply not interested so why are people so obsessed with putting down women while all these things are out in the open to showcase that western women on average are just as capable and in a lot of cases have even outpaced men?.

That statement remind me if this:

Anyway, regarding your essay, I think the paranoia spreaded by the extremist side of sexual gender movements, the "meaning" of feminism (is it a search for equality or for a way to rise woman to the dominant spot?) and the afraid of public backlash are some factors that builded the current situation of gender equallity.

So, the way I see to this issue to change is when the feeling of "competition between genders" ends and start a schedule to inforce "gender equallity" on all it's aspects.

But that just me...Did I get your point? Or I missed?

I agree I think the constant victim mentality that is placed upon women from birth limits the comfort level that could be achieved between a lot of men and women.  The narrative where the men are the dominant gender is so painfully outdated in the west but it's still widely believed.  I believe once we start valuing the individual over gender that will be the end of all this sexism on both sides.
