i like fandom names but some are so uncreative

i mean i love my fandom but still - ikonic? once? why  :wut:

its fun and it helps you feel like you fit in with the community better i guess

i cannot @ some people who say they stan the group but aren't a -insert fandom name- (ex. i love bts but im not an army!!!) . how do u think the group would feel to see u denounce the fandom name and everyone in it? rude AF

I think there's a difference between being a fan of the group and being someone who likes them, so I can understand people who say 'i like/love x but i'm not (fan name)!' Because to me being a (fan name) means someone who properly follows the group and their updates, interacts with the fandom etc. Meanwhile people who like the group might just check out their new releases but not care about their appearances on shows, individual schedules etc.

(For example, I like gfriend's music, but I wouldn't say I was part of the fandom because I don't pay that much attention to them outside of when they drop tracks and probably couldn't tell you the names of members that aren't sinb/yuju/umji off the top of my head.)

i understand what you mean and i definitely agree, i listen to a ton of groups but wouldn't say i'm a member of the fandom, i more meant like, someone who is on the level of other fans i.e following their tweets daily, watching all their variety appearances, buying albums, but still rejects the fan name because of some dumb stigma about the fandom.
