yup theyre differemt! here i found a gif sharpening tut that explains better: http://itsphotoshop....f-a-gif-at-once

remember to convert to timeline before making the layers a smart onject, if you do it the other way round the gif doesnt move~

how do you guys cut your pngs? i used to use topaz remask 4 but i was wondering if there's any other way to make pngs without them looking choppy?

I usually trace them manually with pen tool. If it's vector based, you can also try live trace (CS5 and lower) / image trace (CS6 & CC) feature from Adobe Illustrator, but that really depends on the quality of your picture. It doesn't do flawless job, but it can help. All you need to do is click on your image, and new options below your menu bar will appear. Select live/image trace and that should render your image automatically for you.
