!SpammeR! 7,791
can anyone tell me how can i make the background of a gif transparent in Photoshop !! thank you so much
!SpammeR! 7,791
The same way you would with a single image, but you have to repeat the process for every frame of the gif which might be very time consuming. If you don't know how to do that here is a guide showing some of the methods you can use to do this Note that I just googled it and you might be able to find a guide that works better for you. thank you for your reply so this is the gif i'm working with i tired to use actions to remove the background, and it worked, but when i played the gif it came out like this but i want something at least similar to this i don't know where i messed up i think the frame plays and it doesn't turn off when the next frame is enabled ! i don't know how to fix it Edited October 25, 2016 by OHplease !!! !SpammeR! 7,791
Have you tried adding a pure white background, or whatever color background it will be used on, I know it's not a perfect solution but it's the only one I know sorry. no i will try it ! thank you
!SpammeR! 7,791
Hi!! can someone please tell me what kind of effects is this? and how it can be achieved? like the whole color tone and kind of out of focus effect, thank you ^ ^ Edited February 20, 2017 by !SpammeR! !SpammeR! 7,791
Well, for the color tone, I think you can put a brown gradiant map over the picture (and then use : overlay). Also, I would add a motion blur filter to create that effect (you might have to sharpen after so the image is not too blurry) or easier thing would be to work with two images. Blur the first one and then use the eraser so you just keep some places blurry, then sharpen See : Hope that helped because I'm not good at explaining how it works OTL thank you so much!! don't worry it's well explained ! i noticed that they have also some kind of pixels effect going on like the pic isn't smooth, do you think they used a sharpening tool or something, sorry i'm not familiar with the ps terms yet
!SpammeR! 7,791
I don't know if you still need this or not, but if you're planning to make the background transparent so that you can put the gif on top of another picture, then insert the image you wish to use below all the gif layers, then select all of the gif layers and change the blending mode to either Screen or Lighten. thank you so much! i will definitely need this !! cause i kind of figured out how to do it but i forgot it now LMAO! !SpammeR! 7,791
I mean, there is an option to save as Original. When you've clicked Save For Web and you see the prompt, on the tab next to 'Optimized' there should be 'Original.' o: yes, but it doesn't work it always end up saving in the optimized version, no matter what

!SpammeR! 7,791
Oh really? I've never tried gimp but I'll look into it, thanks! you're welcome, i found it here http://www.graphicdesignforum.com/forum/forum/software/adobe-products/60374-photoshop-save-unoptimized-gif?p=1153434#post1153434 " @Satchel, I was having a problem with optimised GIF animations with a project of mine for some time and your post came up while I was searching for a solution. I've just found a solution, so I figured I might as well register to this forum to help you out too. I was able to save an unoptimised version of the animation in question using GIMP ( http://www.gimp.org/ ). Open up your GIF file with GIMP, go to Filters > Animation > Unoptimize. It will open up a new file with each frame's contents independant of the others. To save it, go to File > Save, select 'Save as Animation' > Export > Save. Hope this helps."
