Things that used to be really popular in school

What used to be really popular in your school?

People at my school used to be really crazy about Pokemon cards, when it first came out. We had the original 90's first edition ones too.

Yugioh cards was pretty big too, but not quite on the same level as Pokemon.

Digimon was pretty niche tbh. I still have mines in purple.

Beyblades phase was cool as everyone used to challenge each other in the playground, some would even bet their own stuff for winning, which was a pretty smart way for taking stuff.

Finally, Yo Yo Balls. I would swing mines around everywhere. I can't completely remember, but I think my school banned them eventually, for safety reasons.

You just gave me a wave of 90's nostalgic feels. I'm gonna be really sad if there are people super confused about any of these things.

Pokemon was huge at my school, but the cards ended up being banned because the grade 6's (the oldest grade of elementary) were stealing cards from kindergarteners. That's how my sister and I lost our shiny Charizard card. Beyblade was also huge when I was in elementary.

Definitely Pokemon cards at my schools.

When I was in 4th grade, you could actually get detention or worse, suspended for bringing Pokemon cards to school because back then, well, shit goes down when you have Pokemon cards. One of the playground supervisors even thought the Sailor Moon cards I brought to school once were Pokemon cards and my friends and I had to explain to her that they were SM cards, not Pokemon cards when she tried to take them away and tried to give me detention.

Yu-gi-oh cards weren't that popular at my elementary school compared to Pokemon.
