Could Lovelyz follow in Infinite's footsteps?

When Infinite released their official fanclub name, Inspirit, they released a single album by the same name. This was the title track:

Their next comeback a few months later was their first full album, and best album imo, Over the Top. Over the Top was not only their best selling album at that time, but the title Be Mine is still their most iconic, best digitally performing song, and it earned them their first music show win

I feel like Woolim is following the same formula with Lovelyz and hoping to recreated the same situation. I mean, Lovelyz' debut mini was even named Girls' Invasion, a direct parallel to infinite's debut mini, First Invasion

And Lovelyz recently released their single album entitled Lovelinus for their official fanclub with this titletrack:

looks like the next step is that first full album and break out hit.

other parallels i found:

-Infinite had their own variety show, sesame player s2, in 2011 right before their break out with Be Mine. Lovelyz is about to start their own variety show, Lovelyz in Wonderland. It will be interesting to see if news of a Lovelyz comeback will surface when the show starts airing.

-Infinite's Nothing's Over was their fourth promoted track and Lovelyz For You is also their fourth promoted track.

so could Lovelyz follow Infinite and have a bonified break out hit if their next comeback is a full album?

thoughts?

lovelyz is coming for that top spot. hide your favs.

They are being promoted in a similar pattern but that's about it. However, in terms of them following Infinite's footsteps I don't think so.

why not, though? Infinite's first song to actually chart well was Nothing's over at around 600,000+ downloads overall. Lovelyz has about that with Ah-choo, 500,000+. the slow rise of public recognition is there and lovelyz sells a decent amount physically for a girl group.

Digital downloads were inflated back then, it's difficult to compare how they did based on digitals alone, but Ah-Choo is doing much better than Nothing's Over did that's for sure.

I don't see the need to compare a boy group to a girl group. Is like comparing apples and oranges. Girl groups tend to sell well digitally and do decently in terms of physical sells while with boys groups it's the opposite. I think it is more fair to compare Lovelyz with other girl groups just like Infinite is compared to other boy groups.

....but i'm not comparing.....i'm just pointing out parallels that could lead Lovelyz to the same success Infinite had.

Well it kind of seems like you are. Just the fact that you compared their digital sales (nothing's over to achoo) at a certain point in time in their careers it doesn't make sense to me because of the reasons I mentioned before.

They will rise for sure.

I'm not sure about Infinite since I don't follow them, but Ah-Choo has been on Melon, moving slowly, surely....

I think they are one of those groups that will slowly rise and then suddenly everyone will wake up and one day and suddenly realize that Lovelyz has slowly become a top group that no one saw coming.

They are all really pretty and I like some of their songs so I will support them for sure with whatever comes out next :)

I hope so.. I don't know but I think Woollim really promoted in similar way.

Lovelyz gain more recognition with Ah Choo and their acapella that time. Infinite gain more recognition with BTD and their synchronized dance that time.

Infinite release Inspirit and Lovelyz release Lovelinus. Both are different concept from their previous comeback.

Infinite have Sesame Player S2 before Be Mine and Lovelyz have Lovelyz in Wonderland before their next comeback.

If Lovelyz really follow Infinite's footstep, they can get 1st win next comeback. I really hope for it.

But in the end, they're different group. Just the way Woollim promote them is similar.

They're being promoted in the exact same way. Even the same time frame. It's a little funny to see.

But if that do turn out to be True. Their comeback will be huge, full album and a repack. In march/April. And they would have a debut single in Japan this year.

I think it's different. There isn't the same desperation that happened with Infinite when they released be mine. If I recall be mine was potentially the last song by Infinite cause if they didnt make it they would disband. It's completely different with Lovelyz where they can kinda take it much easier than Infinite at that time.

Of course they have different situation and condition. Woollim is bigger now.

I don't see how infinite's "fate" can affect Lovelyz tbh... But i feel like they're going to make it sooner or later...

And if Ah-choo continues to get as much attention as it does now for the next couple months .. It can easily be considered their breakthrough song ... The song is at around 600k download already and it's still rising
