Since then, 曾ç»æ²§æµ· has become an idiom in its own right and is used to describe the state of having seen and experienced a great deal of things. ...Though writings of romance often like to refer back to its more romantic meaning.[2] This is strictly my personal interpretation but before this last line, I thought it was just a regular "dust" analogy. However, when I heard this last line, all I could think of was the term "红尘", which means "this world of us mortals" / "the human society" and is literally "red dust". So if you take it like that, then we really all are "dust".No idea if the lyricist intended this one, but it's kinda cool. At least I think so. xD
