Even though I'm a devoted Buddy (Gfriend fan) if someone told me before Rough was released that Gfriend would win 3 music show awards and top the Melon chart while; Taeyeon (even though shes not promoting) Zico Baekhyun and Suzy Crush Winner All had new songs out, I'd probably tell them to stop dreaming and come back to reality lol This comeback sure has shocked me ( in a really good way ) What about you guys? I understand that and I know that they were very successful in their first year, but considering their competition i find it awesome that they are still number 1! I didn't think the song would be so successful like it is now. Guest Posted February 4, 2016 Share Posted February 4, 2016 I think I kinda expected it because their agency gave them 2 good songs in a row (Glass Bead and Me Gustas Tu) and Me Gustas Tu did so well, so I thought they will probably comeback with another song/dance as good as the previous one, and they did (: And with all the attention they had before this comeback, I expected that they would do well. But for the music shows wins I only expected that they would win at least once! It's even more special to beat taeyeon at least on melon , not everyone can do that, she didn't burn the chart like she did with "i" but she is still far from weak Ps : although looking at melon chart right now. I think taeyeon might take 1st again later. But it's fine gfriend already put their presence on this kpop industry so i am happy I do wondering how melon chart works ? Gfriend melon listener is around 800-900k today while taeyeon is more than 1m , but why they can be 1st i don't get it , anyone can explain ?? This is the main reason that TWICE was nominated on The Show, of course with the Tzuyu issue, winning for TWICE may not be possible for The Show. Having superior digital numbers isn't a huge thing, since the cap is so low, that being popular gives you a better shot. M!Countdown you need to perform at, so only the Artists that perform will be able to win first place. A rep from YG stated on October 1, "The logic behind not ranking them because they were not on broadcast is an outdated idea. If a music show's chart was fair and reasonable for goodness' sake, then it would be a chart that gave an equal opportunity to everybody." - regarding iKON and My Type The irony is, iKON got a Triple Crown on M!Countdown because they performed, when Suzy and Baekhyun whom dominated the Digital Charts for 3 weeks wasn't consider. Additionally, the Scoring System they use is comparing the the next highest Artist that performed, which means that iKON that had superior Digital and Album Sales had a worse Score than Dumb and Dumber.
