China doesn't care about Foreign idols as much as their own homeland idols so Koreans will most likely flop so hard there,

The special treatment he gets has rightly alienated him from his former EXO members. Most people don't even see Lay as a member of EXO anymore.

Doesn't the hate come from him missing the majority of EXO aka GROUP activities; in particular album promotions and major tour dates like Japan Tour dates and now the American tour dates.

 

The fact that he is Chinese has nothing/very little to do it with it. In fact him being Chinese is what allows him to get away with all this shit.

 

Overall I don't think people care about his individual activities; but there is a problem when he misses big chunks of group activities and is allowed to do/get away with things that the other 8/9 people can't do.

I wish people would stop making these comparisons because they are vastly different.

 

Kibum did not want to be in Super Junior. He debuted as an actor and then was part of Super Junior. He had no desires to be with the group.

 

Siwon has his own schedules but has never missed a super show or major Super Junior event. Even during music shows, he promotes with the group much of the time.

 

Lay's been absent from most EXO related things. It goes without saying that it's his prerogative, but you can't really compare someone who barely attends group schedules to someone who willingly left the group (but was never considered an ex-member) and someone who shows up when he's needed.

siwon missed performances too and promotions but he didn't miss concerts because they schedule for him around them

It is different but I meant their hate would still be the same. If Yixing is doing the same exact thing those two is doing he will still get the same hate. I've seen plenty of people justify their hate because he will do the same thing as the former members.  Lay has already gotten hate before he missed a tour stop. Imo Sm probably think his schedules in China are more important and that it is not necessary for him to attend all the tour stops. Personally, I feel like fans are just being too whiny.
