Are you implying it wasn't her decision to get a big tattoo on her stomach? I feel like an agency wouldn't force her to do something like that since it pretty much ruins her stomach. It's just my op

What would Hyorin’s life graph that she drew herself look like? When looking at its form, Hyorin’s life was a life that steadily matured from the time she was born until now. When drawing the life graph, Hyorin started from the present time with her current age of 23 and connected the lines by looking back at her life. Hyorin completed the graph in a detailed manner until she reached the age of one, which she will not even remember. She filled in the spots in the life graph abundantly by writing short reasons explaining why on all the places in the graph she put a spot on. From the hard times (?) when she was little to present in which she is on a success highway, Hyorin excitingly drew the graph. We could feel serious and honest sides in her. Let’s now look at Hyorin’s honest and neat life graph.

Hyorin’s happiest moment was not the moment when she became the 1st place for the first time, or when she received the rookie award. It was the moment when she got casted as a model for the cosmetics advertisement which she filmed exclusively and when she got casted as the model for the beer advertisement. It was a choice that we did not expect but soon, we all understood why. It means coming forth as a model for an advertisement as a female star. Didn’t it only belong exclusively to Jeon Ji Hyun, Lee Min Jung and Lee Hyori? Hyorin actively played a role in a cosmetics advertisement in 2011 and a beer advertisement in 2012. She said “To idol groups, these advertisements are like a dream. It was an honor because these are advertisements that big stars, such as Lee Hyori, usually shootsâ€. She also added “The truth is, I really wanted to put my focus and do well on this beer advertisement but back then, I did not even sleep well because of busy schedules. I also was irritated because contrary to my desires, I ended up not doing it very well†and displayed her affection. However, there was a real reason why she liked beer advertisements. To a question “Were you happy because you were acknowledged as a sexy star?†Hyorin smiled and said “I don’t know about all that but I just like beer†and gave an honest answer. We even could see Hyorin’s adorable personality as she drinks only the beer that she advertised no matter what whenever there is a time she has to drink. Hyorin said “All of the things worked out after that advertisement’ and even showed pride in it.

The time that Hyorin picked out when she flourished as a singer was when she played an active role in KBS 2 ‘Immortal Song 2’. Hyorin said “I think I really got a lot of love during this time. There were old people who usually do not know about idol groups that well but after ‘Immortal Song 2’, I was even loved by old people. It was the time when it greatly helped me to develop my skills by getting lots of experiences performing on the stage.†Hyorin also said “Among the songs that I sang back then, they loved ‘The person at a time back then’ and to me, I like the songs ‘Miniskirt’, ‘Seoul woman’ and ‘If the night is like today’. These songs are nicely well-arranged†and added onto her comments.

 

# “There is a no definite answer in the artsâ€: Slump holes

Even though it is a life as a singer that has been on a smooth road, there was a time when Hyorin had slumps. As people can guess from the fact that Hyorin wrote ‘The beginning of tough times’ on the graph of the time when she became a trainee at JYP entertainment at the age of 19, she is soon faced with difficulties. Hyorin’s dream was originally not a singer. She loved singing so much that she went to karaoke three times a day but she was not interested in celebrities, TV or internet. Hyorin thought that it would be good to become a trainee at an entertainment company only so that she can be admitted to department of practical music in college. Hyorin said “I was sure that I am better at singing than studying†and said “My house was not that rich so I did not even think about going to cram schools and thought it would be good to enter the entertainment company. The reason why I chose JYP was because when I wanted to audition all of a sudden at the end of the year, all the other auditions from other companies was all over. The only opportunity that I happened to grab was from JYP†and talked about honest behind stories.

There was a pain when the girl group in which JYP has been preparing for breaking up, but there was one real slump. Hyorin said “I have to express something by singing, but there is a time when there is no certain answer to it. I really wanted to do well but it did not go in the way that I wantedâ€. She also added, “When studying, doing definite things such as previewing and reviewing is enough but I did not know what I have to do to be good at music so I was confused†and conveyed her thoughts. We could see Hyorin’s efforts, as she focused and forced her more to be mature in relation to music rather than looking at her external situation of the time when she got frustrated while on a road to becoming a singer. Hyorin becoming a diva with her singing capabilities are acknowledged being the representative skill out of all girl groups is not something that she was naturally born with. Hyorin said “After making a debut, I honestly have no time to feel slumps†and said “I simply think that ‘I am going to do much better’ more and more†and added onto her comments。

However, it looks like Hyorin’s mind is not comfortable recently. In the last part of the life graph, she wrote ‘I am going downwards because of the crab dance’ and soon talked about her concerns. She said “It is good enough if people look at it as something that is bold and extraordinary, but people only look at it in from negative perspectives so it is very frustratingâ€. She also added “I have been getting a lot of insults so I am going downwards†and shared honest stories. On December 6th at KBS 2 “Yoo Hee-yeol's Sketchbookâ€, she said “I have lived this many years and found out that being pretty is everything†and even when drawing the life graph, Hyorin said “I want to get a plastic surgery even now. But once when the time comes, I think I might hesitateâ€.

 

The worst moments for Hyorin, who is representative of the ‘beauty that comes from being healthy’, in which she has chosen was when she was 1~2 years old. When she was born, she had the diseases called congenital bilary alresia’, diseases in which bile does not come out from the liver so she got a big-scale surgery that took more than 10 hours. She revealed “I was got two surgeries because I was sick until the age of two and was hospitalized.’ People usually do not remember the times when they were little, but Hyorin has painful memories which makes her say “I got way too many injections when I was little so that even now, I am not even afraid of the needle at all when getting injectionsâ€

The truth is, Hyorin is like a person who is predicted to be a star. Hyorin said in a modest manner “I found out that I have a gift in singing only after becoming a trainee†but she is showing fantastic arts and physical education history. She completely cured her diseases when she was a little and Hyorin was so healthy that she played an active role as a track and field runner. Even after entering middle school, she was a girl who had the active role in physical education class (Dodge ball 1st place!) and showed talents in music as she got the ‘Best Conductor’ award. From the early times, she has shown the possibilities of images of ‘Physical education idol’ along with ‘the healthy beauty of being sexy’ image in which SISTAR currently has.

However, the time when she was little, which was the tough times in her life, is also a time when she was suffering from her complex. It came as a stress to Hyorin when “She argued a lot with the boys when she was in elementary school as they made fun of her because of her dark skin.†She talked about a story that “Since I really wanted to become whiter, I even put my mom’s BB cream that she uses all over my body.†Her nickname was ‘An alien’. Hyorin said “Because my face is so small, they gave me a nickname of an alien†and also said “Korean people are weird. They can just say that my head is small and why do they have to say alien†and talked about her complaints in a cool way. But now, her dark skin and small face now became one of SISTAR Hyorin’s charming points in which can never be left out.

Towards the fact that her complex now turned into her charming point, Hyorin said “I did not know world would become like thisâ€. She ended up drawing her life graph downwards saying “I am getting a lot of insults lately†but it means that the interest towards Hyorin is that hot. Her first solo album that she recently released becoming the 1st place in not only on the music charts but also on each of the music broadcasts proves such a hot interest she is getting. Hyorin’s life graph looked like as if she had lost confidence. However, it is clear that her efforts and capabilities she has shown in life will bring her another opportunity with a twist, just like when she overcame her complexes when she was little.

Hyolyn and Ailee were not performing against each other, but with each other.

 

 

It was a duel type thing. They had different categories.

Ailee and Hyolyn vs K. Will and some other guy. Ailee and Hyolyn performed Telephone by Lady Gaga and Beyonce...but it wasn't great. They sounded good (were the best so far), but they were lacking in my opinion. Ailee isn't a dancer, and while Hyolyn is a great performer it didn't work well in my opinion. K. Will's duo was better, but Ailee and Hyolyn won. Eh...

The most successful female soloist in the latter half of 2013 must surely be #SISTAR ’s #Hyolyn . #Hyolyn started the year with sub-unit promotions with #SISTAR 19, group activities w...ith #SISTAR in the middle of the year, and then ending the year with solo promotions. #Hyolyn recently revealed scenes from behind the stage, as she showed her joyous image.

Hyolyn continues to be a busy woman even though she is backstage, but she was able to settle everything with minimum fuss. From styling her hair to make-up, and signing autographs for her album for fans, Hyolyn was able to do everything naturally. She also had time to check out her dance choreography on the screen, while humming along to performances by other singers. She also could squeeze out some time to relax by playing games on her mobile phone.

With solo promotions coming to an end soon, Hyolyn even analysed the benefits between group and solo promotions, and expressed her wish for SISTAR to return as soon as possible as a group for promotions. Although she is the group’s main vocalist, a successful soloist, and is a popular singer that has been recognized for her talent, Hyolyn still very much wants to do group promotions with her fellow SISTAR members.

Hyolyn said, “We have more solo activities this year, so I hope the 4 of us can quickly group together for promotions as SISTAR in 2014. We will work even harder to get more good reviews. I hope that we can get more encouragement, please continue to show your support for Hyolyn.â€
