SISTAR’s Hyolyn poses with two of her four cats, Rino and Simba, in a cozy new pictorial for beauty and lifestyle magazine Allure.

 

Hyolyn’s love for her cats and animals in general is no secret. In fact, not so long ago the singer was criticized by an MBC reporter for loving her cats too much.

 

In the corresponding interview for the pictorial, Hyolyn says, “Ever since I was little, I raised a dog. But while working, whenever I wanted a pet, cats naturally came to mind.â€

 

She shares that she prepared a lot in order to take her of cats well, including volunteering at an animal shelter and reading lots of books about cats.

 

To the question of when she’s happiest with her cats, Hyolyn responds, “When we fall asleep.â€

 

She explains, “After getting cats, I don’t feel alone when I’m home. I love it the most when we gather on the bed and go to sleep. When I lay down to sleep, Leo is the first one to get on the bed, and each of them grab their own spot. When I stretch out my hand, I need to touch [one of my] cats to fall asleep.â€

 

Hyolyn continues, “I adopted all four of my cats. I wish people would adopt animals instead of paying money for them. If I decide to get more cats, I think I will choose to adopt them.â€

just out of curiosity, but does anyone know how hair extensions work, b/c from these pictures, it doesn't look like hyorin is wearing any, but she does, right? 

because Hyolyn has short hair one day and long hair the next, I'm assuming that she uses clip in extensions. This basically means pieces (wefts) of hair that has hair clips attached at the root. They take that hair clip and attach it to the roots of Hyo's hair and then brush it out to blend.

so I was watching this talk2 fancam and I think at 9:41minutes, Hyolyn says that she doesn't have plans yet for a solo comeback? Anyone speak Korean here who can confirm/deny this?

it seems like the rest of this first half of the year is Sistar and Sistar's China advancements. I would not mind a fall comeback for Hyo but anything from November on would just be so frustrating because of last time. It seems that money is a big factor, it reminds me of Yenny/Hatfelt, when she had to promise to pay back JYPE for the expenses on her Me? album.

Yeah I don't want a November solo again, it's too close to the end of year award shows and she'll not have enough time to chart. I'm ok with August as latest.  It makes sense that she had to pay a portion for her solo debut because her solo was far from basic: she got 2 MVs(not even Sistar have gotten this), 1 MV shot in the UK, great album packaging(the photobook was stunning), 1 program by Mnet for her solo debut (only one after Lee Hyori and Rain to get this), 2 showcases(1 for the press and 1 for the fans), a full length album, some creative control etc. so it does make sense that she had to pay a portion and it probably worked  as a good investment for her since her solo debut was successful and she sold +10k albums & did really good digitally.

 

I feel like you pay for the control you get. Do you know if Yenny/Hatfelt paid for all of it or just a portion? She did have a lot of artistic control over her solo.

from what I understand from Yenny's interviews, she's paying back the cost of production/distribution, aka whatever her album sales didn't cover, to the company. I wouldn't be surprised if Hyolyn had the same arrangement. Thinking back her solo debut started out so, so well, the double promotions (her and Sistar, I mean) was the problem. I really don't want that again.

why does Hyorin only have 80k followers on instagram when Som and Bora are already past 100k -_-

this reminds me of a time when I was talking with someone on tumblr and they showed me a gif and asked where it came from, it was from OWL and so I told the person it was from her solo song and the person replied, "hyolyn had a solo?!" This was like March, 2014--3 months after the fact. IDK, I think a lot of fringe fans are late to the game when it comes to Hyo's solo stuff. Think about it, even if you're a casual fan of Hyolyn you know that she dislikes (or disliked) social media, plus we had the fake IG trick too, and the fact that some sistar news sites aren't entirely up-to-date with the latest. If I wasn't following all the hyotties on twitter, I probably wouldn't know about Hyolyn's IG either, lol.

I hope Hyorin isn't paying for all of it, she did mention ones that she paid for the photoshoot in London but I can't be too sure, and yeah, I don't want any double promotions either.

At least hyorin got 3cfs after her comeback. She might get 100-200k for cf. I just hope she comebacks at the beginning of 2015 with a good concept and album.

 

I kinda wish that Hyolyn would have a comeback in the beginning of the year too, I would love for her to promote, directly and indirectly, for a full year.

I doubt Hyorin paid for everything. Unless she knew how to cut corners, she was more than likely assisted by Starship when it counted. Even Beyonce took a 50 million dollar deal and spent it on one album (music and videos) and a tour. Albums are expensive. You have producers, any collaboration (which there are contractual agreements in that as well), studio time (if you don't own your own), a sound engineer to help get the entire sound just right, writers, etc. Then there is the videos (paying the director, renting spaces, an entire crew meant just to edit, and set up and stuff).

Hyorin is no where near struggling but to fully finance an album (and it's videos, photoshoot, etc.) by herself...nah. 

Edit: Let me use the word project instead of an album. I don't know if she did or did not pay, but I doubt Starship was just going to let her do an entire album without their input/money

oh yeah, we know that Hyolyn didn't pay for the full thing, for me it's just confusing because whenever asked about a comeback she always says things like, "it costs a lot of money/I have to save up first" I feel like, unless a person 100% finances everything and is their own boss, their's no way that they have the final say on everything.

Producer of "I Am a Singer" says he was most disappointed by Hyolyn's elimination

 

Producer Kim Joon Hyun of MBC's 'I Am A Singer' revealed he was most disappointed by Hyorin's elimination out of all the eliminations this season during a recent interview held on April 22 at Yeouido, Seoul. 

 

While talking about the show, the producer stated, "For season 3, I wanted to make a stage where artists who are pursuing music can sing the songs they want people to hear. In that sense, it is a shame that Hyorin was eliminated. 

 

Hyorin is definitely a great singer. And she is one of the few acknowledged idol members who is actively promoting. Her elimination came much quicker than I thought and personally, I was disappointed. I think that she is an artist who has a lot more to show." 

 

Meanwhile, the chief producer of 'I Am A Singer' hinted that there was a chance that they will be premiering a fourth season of the show possibly this year or early next year. However, no further information was provided. 

'I Am A Singer' will be airing its last episode of the season this coming April 24.

 

I definitely get what he's saying, on that stage Hyolyn was an underdog, and that makes for great TV. I think everyone was impressed by how she sang her heart out for "Fate."
