I'm pretty sure she got it to try and cover her scar. I still don't think she's very comfortable with showing her stomach either really. The entire time she's had that tattoo her outfits have always had some lacy, somewhat transparent drape over it and she completely covered it up for Hush.

 

yes, I can't claim to really know Hyolyn but all signs point to the tattoo to cover her scar. There are a lot of things (bullying when she was little, her mother saying that she wasn't exactly pretty but that she had charms, and getting insulted whenever she stands next to Bora) that show fans why she's uncomfortable with her body. I think there are moments of vulnerability but she's slowly overcoming them. Before One Way Love, Hyolyn never wore belly shirts or crop tops. I remember during SISTAR's first concert all the members were wearing a crop top cheerleader outfit--that didn't even show off a lot of stomach skin--and hers was altered to tuck down into the waist band of her skirt. I remember during SISTAR's GITM promos they were performing one of their songs, Hey You and Hyolyn had a shirt that pinned down over the front of her stomach but that showed the side of her stomach. She was doing a particular move and the front of the shirt kind of hiked up--she practically stopped performing to pull it back down and for the rest of the performance she was conscious about what she was wearing, which partially took her out of performing. 

 

Even with the lace bits, I've never seen Hyolyn where as many crop tops as she has for One Way Love. As soon as she got that tattoo she became freer to show her stomach, like you said she's still not 100% comfortable but I feel like she's come a really long way from where she was. So, I know as an idol it can seem self-sabotaging to ruin skin with tattoos (my head was kinda spinning when Jay Park decided to fill in his left leg) but I feel like if the tattoo is important, if the tattoo can make Hyolyn feel even 1% more comfortable with herself, if the tattoo can open Hyolyn up to not being afraid of accidentally showing her stomach in public--and this is a tangent but when Hyolyn debuted her goal was to never show any of her body, it was such a complex for her. I mean look at her shady girl outfit in comparison to the other members of SISTAR 

--then I'll just have to sit on my reservations. Of course, you're right tattoos can cause complications for celebrities and they can sag when people get older, it'll probably get bothersome to need to cover them up for broadcasts, and hers is really big, but I just accept it. Because of what I know--or, really what I think I know (all I'm doing is putting together things Hyolyn has said on interviews, things the other members of SISTAR have said about her, I could be 100% off in my assumptions)--I just accept it. You don't have to, nobody has to. Part of being a celebrity is being critiqued on your body, I get it.

I don't know if you guys are familiar with  "VIXX TV" show, is a show with short funny segments from the group(10 min max)  where they fool around , tell the fans what are they doing and the incoming proyects ,they have like 100 episodes already, I wish Sistar have something like that.-

Hyolyn TV would be so awesome! Since she's not committed to anything but prepping for SISTAR's comeback, it would totally be feasible to give her a camera and just talk or show snippets of her in the studio. I wish Starship would do something like that~!

You guys know what happened with her MC temporal job??

 

according to this schedule from givemesistar, Hyolyn should have already recorded an episode on the 14th. I'm assuming that SBS cancelled the broadcast and future filming for the time being but I haven't seen any articles or tweets that specifically state that. The thing that confused me was that usually sistarbox or sis-look will post walking pictures or behind the scenes pictures of sistar members recording variety shows but then I thought that they were probably busy/otherwise occupied. In other words, I don't think anyone knows anything specific about it.
