Are you talking about artists or the composers/lyricists?  I don't think America has that many artists who are great, not so much nowadays anyway. I agree Lady GaGa is a great artist because her songs were once the most popular for a time, but the others (Katy Perry, Rihanna for example), they aren't that exceptional IMO.

I love Rihanna's 'Only Girl in the World', but that's it.  Katy Perry's songs only last for a short period before they're out lol

 

 

Katy makes amazing songs and albums though. Vocally she isn't that strong, but her personality and fun music makes me love her. I've never liked Rihanna much but I found a song of hers called Russian Roulette and it's seriously amazing. You just have to look past all of her more commercial songs and she has some gems.
