“We Got Married� Producer Reveals Why the Show Still Continues Despite Much Criticism

While MBC‘s “We Got Married†is one of the longest running variety shows, continuing for eight years and counting, it has received many controversies and complaints from viewers.

 

Behind all this discussion stand the ones who are in charge, producer Sun Hye Yoon and all the other staff members. A program wouldn’t have been able to air this long without their hard work and effort put into this show.

 

Producer Shin Hye Yoon stated, “I’ve been in charge of ‘We Got Married’ for the past three years. Even I think that’s a long time. Many fans complained, but I think it’s because they just don’t like seeing their favorite star interacting with someone of a different sex. Even I wouldn’t like this show if I were young again and were in their shoes.â€

 

Like producer Sun Hye Yoon’s words, “We Got Married†has gone through thick and thin. The complaints seem to rise whenever a new idol couple is revealed. Then why, the audience would ask, is “We Got Married†continuing to introduce new idol couples?

 

The producer continued, “Don’t you think idol fans despise ‘Idol Sports Athletic Championships’ and ‘We Got Married’ the most? The reason why idol couples appear despite all the hate is because it is relatable to the age group that watch our show. It also matches well with our concept.â€

 

Producer Sun Hye Yoon picked Joy and Yook Sungjae couple to back up her point. “Even as the producer, all I can think when I look at this couple is the word ‘cute.’ This couple matches perfectly with ‘We Got Married.’â€

Wait what has ISAC have to do with WGM? 

 

ISAC is because the screentime is just for Top groups that Xiumin can't even leave the court freely even when injured.

A few years back, MBC completely omit out winning from smaller group that won 400m relay and walk relay, like why are their efforts thrown into the trash can?

MBC should learn from KBS Dream Team like the announcer never biased against not known people and known people, it was a program that focus on the result.

Also KBS Dream Team has their own doctor in a tent (not health assistant like in MBC ISAC).

 

Anyway about WGM, it should have been for people who really want to experience married life, so they will be more sincere about it.

 

Like maybe first thanking the girl for giving him opportunity to experience abit how married life would be.

 

And if he doesn't really like the girl as girlfriend or wife quality, he should be able to say it.

 

Not just read script "I swear i will never look at another girl. Really, only you in my heart" like every WGM couple say this fake script line -.-

 

It was cute to watch like a few 2-3 episodes a year, but that's exactly the reason why the ratings are so low.

Actually it got really low ratings at some point I think 2-3% but they didn't drop it

I didn't say the ratings were high, just that MBC is happy with the ratings it gets. If they thought that something else would do better in the same timeslot, they'd cancel the show.

Its so fake and cringeworthy when they're forced to say "I will only look at this girl. She's the only one for me " , "No other girls can compare ", etc.

Its like they're forced to take an oath while joining a cult. And then these casts left the show, they began dating other people and confessed to not wanting be reminded and associate with the show anymore.

 

 

The producers blame it on idols fans when actually those 2% extremely low ratings they got came from idols fans who watch and care for their idols who are on the show. The public don't care and dont watch. Every staff and pds behind the show are repulsive.

I hate MBC so much and that guy sounds like a jerk.

My faves were never on WGM and i still hate it with passion for all the idiotic scandals it created and the brainless shippers it created. Like,i went to watch some CNBlue concert video on YT and it was infested with Yonghwa x Seohyun shippers.....when were they on the show anyway?it has been so long time ago!

Also,i'm pretty sure people hate the Idol championship because so many people gets injured there...And MBC forces idol to attend it and spend whole day there. Assholes.
