Tao Is Reportedly Heir to Massive Inheritance

Former EXO member Tao surprised people with his impressive family background.

Chinese media platform Sohu.com revealed that Tao’s father is planning to pass 20 billion yuan (approximately $3 billion) to his son. This news especially received more attention since Chinese magazine printed a letter written by Tao’s father himself. He has at least four to five mansions in Qingdao alone, and according to him, the net value of his company in Beijing is worth more than $3 billion.

 

Though some have questioned his wealth, Tao’s father argued that he was ranked as the 7th wealthiest in Qingdao in 1997. He said that though a failure in 2002 left him with only 40,000 yuan (approximately $6,000), he came to be where he is today with immense effort.

 

Meanwhile, Tao’s father requested for Tao to leave EXO in April of 2015 because of his son’s injuries. Since then, Tao has been working in China independently and is still going through legal dispute with SM.

OP, there was no need for another misleading article.

 the translation of his father interview,  an interesting read. 

better read this, to see what he really said, instead of soompi's allkpop's or sohu.com exaggerations.

That was clarified already. The company is worth 20 billion yuan, but his father only owns 17.3% of shares. Which is still a lot, but it's not billions.

20 billion yuan means 3 million USD. Wonder why the extra 0 was added.

Not the case for Tao. I have always felt that he and his Dad got upset that he didn't get the same treatment from SM as Lay. You can read it between the line in his Dad's open letter.

Nope, don't even try to make this about Lay. You don't need to read "between the lines" when people outright tell you their reasons. :rolleyes:

20 billion yuan is equal to 3,039,421,400.00 USD according to google's current rate. There was no extra zeros.

Oh, my bad. So 3 billion dollars are correct then. For some reason, Allkpop reported it was 20 trillion yuan equivalent to 3 billion dollars.

I ain't arguing with you, I'm just letting you know the reasons have been clearly stated, no reason to read between any lines.

 

I'm not entertaining your commentary any further, I've seen you before trying to turn the conversation to something about Lay, I'm not here for that, not interested. :)

If you knew abt me, I have said this many times since the day his Dad released an open letter, and I even said I would do the same thing if I were him. I never blamed Lay or tried to stir conversation abt him as you are accusing me of. People have kept arguing about money vs health as reasons he left but I have always seen it otherwise. He was a trooper when he was injured, even demanded to be in SMtown in Taiwain when SM announced his absence earlier. Things all changed soon after Lay's personal studio was announced.

If you're not interested in my opinion, why do you reply me when I didn't even talk to you in the 1st place. If I'm not mistaken, I told my opinion abt his reason to leave EXO to another person, not you.

The other person already corrected me. I did base on allkpop report for 20 trillion RMB= 3 billion USD, so this article says 20 billion RMB, I would think it was extra 0 was added.

Cuz they salty af~ Everybody wants to bash him because he's from a wealthy family and they're still butthurtfully deluded into believing he left EXO for "more" money~
