Jaeseop from U-Kiss is going back to Columbia to study some more.

Insoo got his degree in Dance now he is going for his masters in I forget what.

When they debuted Seyong was in a fine arts uni idk if he still has time to attend.

And I think Gunwoo put off his college education, but he was going to study sports health.

I don't understand why idols go to college to study music or acting

Why study it if they can already do it and get jobs?

Because they may want to do stuff later on, they can't be an idol or act forever.

Like for instance Taecyeon basically has started his own brand with Okcat and if I remember he is majoring in business relations or management something in that area. Jun. K is in college too music related and he loves to compose/produce music same goes for Wooyoung he's in college for music too.

Sunggyu, Dongwoo, Hoya, L, and Sungyeol graduated from a 2 year Practical Music program at Daekyung University earlier this year. They are all now at Hoseo University-- Sunggyu, Dongwoo and L are still Practical Music majors, and Hoya and Sungyeol are now studying acting.

Woohyun is a Broadcast and Entertainment major at Dong-ah University, and Sungjong is enrolled at Kongju University, not sure what he's studying but last year he said he wanted to go into the video arts field.

I think it's so that one day they can get jobs without their company behind them if they choose to end their contract.

I understand Taecyeon's decision, but I don't understand singers who have full contracts that go to college to get degrees in music when they have proved that they can sing for a living.

After idol contracts end, companies sign people based on potential worth as a part of the agency, not whether or not they have better abilities than others. Even if a pretty irrelevant idol member gets a music degree from Julliard, after the idol contract is up, there will be very little offers by companies to take them in since they have very little chance of bringing in money based on their popularity when they leave the group (and most stars after being an idol end up going nowhere even really popular idols of popular groups)

For EXO members ....

Suho got accepted into Korea National University of Arts back in 2009-10 .... But he took a temporary absence for two years now to focus on EXO.

Also, Luhan was an exchange student for Yonsei University back in 2008 (Not sure if he continued)

That's all~

There are jobs other than those that require popularity ^^

For example being a vocal or acting coach~

they only give that to people who are main vocals

choreographers tend to be main dancers

but what of the others? the ones who were never great at anything, just ok at a bunch of things

TVXQ's Changmin has Bachelor degrees from  Kyunghee University and Konkuk University ( Film and Arts)  and is currently double majoring ( masters and Ph.d ) at Inha University. Yunho has a masters degree in music from Chungwoon University and bachelors degree from  Myongji University. They have both been ambassadors for their respective universities.

lol that's not necessarily the point.

like Jo Kwon is studying Post Modern Music at Kyunghee,

it's to better understand their craft and develop it rather than find something to do afterwards.

Kwon wants to be a singer forever,

that's why he chose to major in it.

They probably just want to make their skills better. Both Jun. K and Wooyoung are in school for composition in music, IMO Jun. K is already good in that area but maybe he just wants to get better than he already is.
