After School’s Nana Speaks Candidly About Public’s Reaction To Her Acting Skills

After School’s Nana is featured on the cover and pictorial of the January 2018 issue of Grazia Korea.

 

The star showcased her successful transformation into an actress and posed for dreamy photos highlighting her natural beauty. In an accompanying interview, Nana shared some thoughts on her acting and her future.

 

She recently appeared in the film “Swindlers†and will now be starring in the drama “Four Sons.†Nana revealed, “I am currently attending action school, so I’m not able to get my nails done these days. I’m playing a detective on-screen. My character is really good at fighting so I’m learning the basic [actions] of fighting. It’s a really important role and one I’m underqualified for, so I’m working hard to prepare for it.†

 

When asked about her thoughts on her success as an actress thus far, she humbly responded, “I think it’s because the public has low expectations of me. Because of the stereotypes surrounding idols and because I hadn’t really shown my acting before, I think [people] are having low expectations and giving me favorable reviews. However, I really did study hard at acting.â€

 

Nana concluded the interview by saying she wants to become an actress who can pull off any character instead of having a fixed acting style. “I want to show everyone all the different sides of me,†said Nana.

nana is s t u n n i n g and i really enjoyed watching her in both the good wife and the swindlers ♥ the movie was so good! i don't watch k-movies at all but knowing nana was starring in it, i decided to and i was so glad i did

 

i can't wait for her next project~

yeah i'm really excited especially since she has a lead role right?

 

nana was/is my AS bias and i've always really liked her but it was actress Nana/ her Kim Dan role in The Good Wife that really skyrocketed her into my faves list ahmagahplz.png (since I loved the American ver. of the show)

plus they just released news articles today, saying that Lee Jaehoon is in the talks. I know Nana's filming Four Men, but there is a possibility that she can film both at the same time hurrplz.png

omg where did you get that?? that would be hella huge for her, even for a second lead... look at these big names, the budget, plus the space plot sounds really original 🤤

If it is 2% true it would be really huge for her and the plot does look/sound really original :)

Thank you for the info! I did some research actually and the document comes from the tiffcom which is a big entertainment event in Japan... so it's not totally fake imo. Obviously we'll have to wait for the confirmation, and this pic is from oct/nov so the cast might have changed (well if this pic is real lol).

 

I dont think the timing is a problem, Lee Jehoon will film a movie in early 2018, same for Jang Dong Gun who will film his new drama until april. Maybe City of Stars filming will start in may/june with a 2018 Q4 premiere.

my oh my...this is such a great opportunity(it could be a risk too) for Nana but if it's true, 2018 is going to be a very busy year for her and there will be no comebacks.

 

but..let me be excited for awhile. Here's what i've found so far from various sites: 

 

"City of Stars is about a friendship between astronauts, which is conflicted by differing patriotic loyalties, and there may also be a romantic subplot. Rumors say that certain top stars are eyeing the project because it’s shaping up to become the next blockbuster drama"

- Actually the news about this drama/castings already surfaced since 2016 and it should've aired LAST YEAR 

- The director is very famous for his hit movies and a skillful director. 

- The director, Jang Jin wanted Hyun Bin to join drama.

 

- Hyun Bin has received an offer to be the lead in this drama, but it was not confirmed by his agency since he also received other offers. Some said he decided not to join and some said he hasn't made the decision yet, i'm confused now..(The Swindlers reunion?ilikeitplz.png  warstarplz.png ) about the timing, i think it should be okay since he already filmed his 2 movies for this year since july and september.

 

- Jang Dong Gun said he did not even received the offer in the first place.

 

latest news 

 

- Lee Je Hoon is currently reviewing the offer positively. (3 days ago) and i think he's going to take hyunbin's role 

 

- This drama will be completely pre-produced and it's a big budget drama.

I'm pretty sure this pic was true at some point. I mean it's an official document from the tiffcom and not some fanfiction blog. Crazy budget dramas like that usually secure their cast, filming dates and places, airtime etc a long time in advance (for investors). Maybe some of the cast members have changed now, we'll have to wait to know if Nana is still in.

 

The only weird thing on this pic is "will be shown in the first half". I mean Lee Jehoon who will probably get the lead will be filming his new movie for the next few months... I don't think "City of Stars" filming will start before april tbh and I dont know how the premiere date can be in the first half of the year lol.
