ughhmmmm...I don't know how they can actually predict consumer preference tbh...

 

It can be done, and it's not really predicting. More of hypothesis. 

They could perform surveys, ask consumers about stuff, and work on the samples.

I doubt something like direct public survey is done actually ...especially every month which would be too much of a hassle and it's most probably not feasable just this rankings though...But they are some indirect ways they can follow so I don't think they are predicting actually...but I actually think survey from industry insiders would be the most accurate data as each industry would be doing their own surveys increasing the accuracy percentage..

 

Why not? This is why we have researchers and statisticians in the field... to do this job. I don't see why they can't do it; especially in a country who loves polls and surveys. 

By saying that it's too much of a hassle is something that discredits those who are in the research field.

 

 

They could do the indirect survey from insiders but I wonder where they get their samples too.  -_-

Uhmm..How should I explain this...

 

What I mean't was that..it's not as if though they can't do that job...but it's rather waste to do a job which takes longer time and gives you lesser precision when you obviously can do a better job in lesser amount of time...and advertising ministry or department( who ever they are) ...they obviously has to keep up with too many rankings with so many CF's as you can see in their site which is more the reason for them to be time effective...

 

 

If anything, looking for more data gives you more precision. It's more accurate. 

The bigger the sample, the better it is for the decision making process. 

 

And thinking that the advertising ministry has all the data that the industry needs is a bit too much. 

I think they do these kind of surveys for them tbh. 

As for being time-effective and efficient.... these guys has been doing this monthly, I should think that their learning curve with regards to this kind of job is already very high at this point. 

 

I'm a researcher and I believe that the only way to get an good inference is to have beautiful, beautiful data... and of course, doing things point by point - missing one step. 

 

But then... who am I to say these things when I'm not living in Korea? 

I don't know how they do it there... but well.. what I wrote above is my personal opinion.
