I know it happens all over the world tho. When the idols are trainees some cant have cell phone and cant contact/see the family and need to live in the company so a lot of the ppl who work in the company can abuse them and they dont even have the opportunity to tell the family and each year is getting harder to get some attention/be succesfull in the kpop industry and lately i'm thinking a lot of girls and boys are having sex to get into the industry. Jang jayeon(she's an actress) is an axample, she was in the drama boys over flowers and she suicide bcuz she was a sex slave,so i wonder if it happens many times,i know it happens many times in the whole world but what you guys think about it in kpop? Sorry, bad english.

Edit: you guys really think big companies can't do it? Really? WTF

Are you sure? I read somewhere before that SM used RV members as s3x tools for their male staff/trainees or something. Maybe it was a troll?

its obviously a troll...

the big 3, from an economical perspective. can't risk a single incident of sexual abuse because korea is the most anti-sex abuse country in northeast asia, if not, asia.

and the moment news of that comes out and if its from a big 3 idol (note: all big 3 idols are pretty huge), even sm, no matter how powerful their connections are, at the end of the day, will be at the mercy of the korean public if the issue turns out to be true...

not in the big 3 for sure. but yes there were some cases when the CEO made one of his trainees to have sex with him and then he made a male trainee rape this girl or something like this.

They are huge, they have enough power to say it's a lie, and since they are one of the most succesful companies a lot of ppl can do it to get into.

but when you think about it. (i took an economics management class once, but don't take my words as exact)

they cannot take the risk of fucking young men/women who may/may not leak information about such abuse, and knowing how savage k-netz are, (if sex abuse news happened to sm) they'll never let it go. just like what happened to t-ara and bom...

at the end of the day, no matter how powerful sm is, they are powerless against the masses power of opinion...

Yes, I think so, especially for not so well known companies but I don't think big companies are exempt from it happening either, they also have more power for covering up and individuals can abuse their power within a company.

The entertainment industry can be very dirty (in example Kesha's case) everywhere.

I am sure it happens a lot behind closed doors. Maybe not always real rape but the idols have to do favors.

Also, this has nothing to do with size of the company. Big Companies have ways to professionally keep this a secret.

Also, this has nothing to do with South Korea. It happens in all countries and in all entertainment business where You have beautyful people who need something.... they are made to pay with special favors by some people with power.

As for all comments that say "it would be too big of a risk because they are a big company" trust me... big companies have a lot of dirty secrets. And they know how to hide it. It can only be a scandal if the public hears about it.. and they make sure You will never know. BTW it will always be a SINGLE person who cares little about the company itself. So its not like the company officially does that. Its just black sheep that use their position of power and they know how to hide it well.

I doubt that the top 3 can be spared from this either

It's even more competitive over there

And the rewards of doing sexual favours are much greater

Whether it is for debut or solo activities

It may not be forced, but more of the idol doing it voluntarily out of greed

It has happened so i'm sure it actually still happens, and people likes to think there's a safe place like the 3 biggest companies, but to be honest those companies ( specially SM) have the power to persecute, nullify it's testimony, and made an outcast the victim, I mean ..... don't you see how the fans act like bots when Sm spam them to defend them ?, imagine now if a victim of the company says he/she was abuse and Sm makes the other members of the group say otherwise, and then release an statement puting themselves as a victim, sounds familiar right ?, do you remember how fans reacted?; Sm has equal power as the goverment and it's not a suggestion

im pretty sure it happens to most idols actually.

like people here are saying idols in the big 3 don't go through this, but how do you know that as a matter of factly?   just because we haven't heard any scandal or such from this from them, doesn't mean it doesn't go on.

whether you choose to admit it or not the entertainment industry is dirty and tbh we'll never actually know what goes on behind the scenes.
