A leader is someone who inspires others, motivates them. A leader is a guide. When no one else knows what to do, or someone is falling apart, a leader keeps the group together, takes care of and is considerate to everyone, and keeps them strong. Leaders do not have to be bossy or loud, or even overconfident. They don't even have to be confident. They just need to set an example for others and do what is best for the team. Irene is a great leader. She is constantly taking care of all the girls, observing her surroundings. Like during the V app? She noticed that Seulgi couldn't be seen on the camera, so she took it upon herself to tell Joy to include Seulgi. At one point, she simply took the camera herself to make sure everyone could be seen. She wasn't loud or confrontational, she simply did what she needed to do. That is a true leader. Someone who does what is necessary and what is best for everyone. Also, she always stands strong and sets a good example, as you notice in practically every single variety show/video of RV.
