Finland follows Sweden's lead and announces it will expel 20,000 of the 32,000 migrants who arrived in 2015

Finland has joined Sweden in announcing plans to repatriate tens of thousands of migrants whose asylum requests will likely be rejected.

 

The two Nordic countries are both struggling to cope with with an unprecedented influx of refugees and migrants fleeing war and misery in the Middle East and elsewhere, and they receive among the highest number of arrivals per capita in the EU. 

 

The Finnish government said it expect to deport around 20,000 of the 32,000 asylum-seekers it received in 2015.

 

 

It comes as neighbouring Sweden was planning over several years to deport up to 80,000 people whose asylum applications are likely to be rejected.

I hope other European countries will see the light and follow them.

 

 edit: LOL not me getting neg left and right! I am being happy because some countries are starting to take actions but of course, I feel for the migrants too. There's a reason why they are being denied and not all asylum-seekers are really asylum seekers. Majority of them are economic migrants. peace y'all! :)

this has nothing to do with racism.

let's move all North Africa in Scandinavia! who do you think can afford to keep all those people, who do you think has so many resources? who do you think have so many jobs to offer them, houses, schools, social welfare  etc ? it's impossible. Not all of them are refugees, not all of them are escaping war..  Many escape poverty. You cannot take all of them, poverty is all over the world. Those countries have to develop and create opportunities for them. Unfortunately migrants target only some countries, who reached saturation.

 

Denmark's population is 5 millions people

Sweden's population is 9 millions people.

 

let's move millions of North Africans there and force swidish society to integrate them, create jobs etc. Sweeden is not U.S has a few population, 9 millions, not 250 millions, they cannot afford so many migrants. They already have a huge number of migrants.

 

Saudi Arabia has taken 0 refugees .. but nobody calls them "fucking racist". Sweeden and other European countries have taken many, millions of migrants in the last decade, and now, when they cannot afford anymore, they are blamed.

On the other hand, having an influx of refugees is nothing to scoff at when a country doesn't have the resources to aid them because their asylum will turn into a nightmare and they'll be no better off than they previously were.

But it takes a particularly callous heart to feel celebratory from such a tragic event.

 

 

Edit: And if the authorities think deporting 100,000 failed asylum seekers is going to go smoothly, they're in for a shock.

I tell you one thing, most of these refugees left their home country looking for better life. Most of these refugees are looking for work, once these refugees have their own income they will rent a house or buy a house, then they can go to IKEA to buy a furniture for their new home and these refugees also can buy a NOKIA handphone so they can still communicate with they friends. So this is a win win situation. Now, it's your lost.

These ppl are suffering .

I do get it's hard to have a lot of migrants but where are they going to deport them ...

the people suffering is syrians and people from other country that are in war. their reputation is tarnished by those who have no reason to be there in the first place (i.e. not from a war torn country).
