When did you chose your major?

I changed my major as a sophomore. You can be undeclared really early because you still have to take non-major requirements (math, science, history, composition. Etc.) in your first year or so. You have time.

I chose my major 2 years prior entering university but still I ended up disliking it :/

What did you choose as a major?

we have to chose next year at the start of second year uni :/

i'm in a psych but i might switch into life sciences, if you don't know then you should find out soon, you have the option to change programs as long as the courses you're taking are prerequisites

I don't know where you're taking school; I live in Canada and I selected my major (engineering) in my application, since engineering education here is fairly rigid (we even have to take more courses than most other students just to meet the requirements of the profession) and if one were to transfer into engineering they'd pretty much have to start from first year. Had I gone into physics instead like I had been intending I'd have had a bit more flexibility, just take general science/math courses first year, enough to meet the prerequisites of the program.

If school costs a lot where you live (In Canada university is a LOT cheaper than it is in the US), enrolling in a degree program before knowing what you want to do can be an expensive choice. Some people take courses at community college before enrolling at university which can work out well for them.

When I took the PSAT. I think I had to bubble in what major I was interested in. I just picked Nursing because I didn't know what else. I did the same thing on all of my college applications. I'm happy though, I ended up loving it but if I had to do it alllllllll over again I would have chosen computer science or something related to computers and technology. I didn't realize until later on how much it interested me.

I originally started college with an Animal Science major in mind, but then science and math kicked my ass so I decided I didn't want a major with two subjects I suck at, so I changed it to East Asian Studies. I was going to do a double major in that and Japanese, but because of time complications with completing requirements for both majors, I ended up switching to Japanese in the end since I was already mainly focused on Japan as an EAS major.

And if you enter university without knowing what you want to do, you just have "Undecided/Undeclared" as your major. At least, that's how it is in my state's university system.

I chose when i was in senior high then entered as a Mechanical Engineering major, later changed it to Computer Engineering and stick to it till i graduated. I really hate math but i love being called an engineer or having an engineer beside my name.

Already graduated, I'm MS in Computer Engineering currently working in a major software company.
