Lets just completely ignore that they're Japanese, and not Korean. Also that they don't need to switch because the Japanese market is a lot more bigger and profitable.

Also, lets assume that all the JE groups members are all fluent in Korean (before people tell me they don't know Korean so how can they promote in Korea)

**This is not a Bashing thread for JE artists**

This is also NOT a Jpop vs Kpop thread either.

Please don't bring in other groups, to bash them with.

**Its an imaginary situation**

If we consider, the individual members and as a group, music, acting and variety talent, who would be most suitable to the Korean Entertainment Industry and obviously be able to adapt to the Kpop idol scene and why?

I'm well aware that some of the JE groups music is very different from Kpop groups, so you could also think about this potentially, would they be able to adapt and change their music and performances, or maybe they might offer something completely unique? different from the rest.

---

I see Kpop groups in Japan, so I was just wondering how it would be like if some JE groups were in Korea, somehow.

Please don't take this thread seriously and just vote. I like JE groups.

None of them

But I would have totally sent w-inds, circa 2004

Even if they could change and adapt to Kpop? As I said before, potentially some JE groups could be good for other areas. That's why I mentioned the Korean Entertainment Industry. If they're not popular for the music as much, they certainly have different talents which they could use elsewhere. To me, JE groups strength is their variety skills, and for some members their acting. Agreed with w-inds.

lol same...even in 2010-2011 they'd have been a great fit

I'd also send DA-ICE currently but since this is for Johnnys...

I think KAT-TUN is a good bet...

The closest would be HSJ i think, Yamada and Yabu are decent vocalists, visual wise there's Yuto, variety skill wise Hikaru, Daiki and Inoo-chan are quite good, and they all can dance :)

In Ride With Me PV they gave me a kpop group vibe it's hard to explain lol

Imagine HSJ promoting on Korean music shows  :ahmagah:

I would love more songs like this. Sadly this video is a bit sped up, but I prefer these types of concepts for them rather than the cute stuff (although I don't mind, but not everyone likes that). I think they're the closest that (if they changed their music style to a bit more mature) they could be quite popular. Also they're really funny too, and good looking lol.

And JUMP Band can be a sub unit   :ahmagah:

Omg my biggest wish is for them to graduate from cutesy kiddies song, it was cute when they were younger but Takaki singing Magic Power and acting cute at this age is a bit cringeworthy lol. I can go on and on about my dislike for their cute concept but let's not do that

Forever is great! actually i think they have a lot of great coupling songs, too bad they don't get to perform it often

Actually Kusanagi Tsuyoshi can speak Korean and was active there last decade, but I can't imagine Korea responding well to a 40-something idol group.

I guess they would have to send a younger group, so Kis-My-Ft2 or Sexy Zone. The other groups are too close to 30, or in their 30s or 40s.

It's because it was actaully contemporary.

Arashi.

They would be variety kings. Plus they could host, act, and sing. Matsumoto is the visual, and Ninomiya is the ultra talented actor, and the rest are all good at one thing or another.

MatsuJun might work, and Aiba too, and probably Sho... But do you really think Nino and Ohno would fit Kpop though? I don't think Ohno would stay long if he was in the Kpop industry.

The younger JE groups would probably work. I don't think Arashi would fit imo xD

Not the groups but individually I would switch Nishikido Ryo

Him and his killer smile lol

He's gorgeous. I don't think Netizens care that much about the age for males tbh as long as he looks good. He's done quite a few different acting roles as well. Imagine a Korean version of Last Friends with him in it, omg.

I know I'm crying for the oldest members. Yuto and Yabu looks quite mature compared to the members as well, which makes it a little... strange for me haha. Although, at the same time I find it adorable that they don't throw away their innocent side just because they aged a bit. I mean I see people as soon as they become a "man" they go for the sexy and edgy concepts. Not saying there is anything wrong with that, but after seeing that everywhere else so much, its nice to see JE just sticking to what they know best. I don't think age really matters in the Japanese industry as much, because either you look young, have great music or good variety/acting stuff, then fans will still like you. I think in Kpop (with the exception of Shinhwa) Korean netizens seem to have this ridiculous idea that once an idol hits 30, they're automatically old and should retire or something.

Nino is good at variety and acting. He has an interesting presence about him, he's also very witty/smart as well. Perhaps he may not be known as the visual or may not be as popular as the others, but I think he could still be alright because he's a bit different. He could also be an MC too.

I'm not sure about Ohno though, he does have the best voice in Arashi, maybe he might be known for his singing than anything else. As for his age... yeah that could be an issue in the Kpop industry. I admit.

I was talking more about their personalities. Nino can be quite bratty and rude sometimes and this may be a problem in Kpop. As for Ohno, he has his own "my-pace" thing going on and this may frustrate some people and call him lazy or not interesting. He doesn't talk on shows (or at all sometimes), and people may complain about it. Arashi themselves are good idols, but the thing I was talking about was their personalities  Jun, Sho, and Aiba all have that personality for Kpop imo. Nino probably too, he's incredibly charming. Just the bratty part though might give him problem.

True true, just look at SMAP, they still have a huge following at their age, while in Korea it's basically over once you hit your 30's

You have a point, on one side i think it's good that JE stick to their root and don't let the boys lose their youthful image but at the same time i really wish they get to try a new concept, they don't have to go all sexy to look mature but maybe give them stronger songs and performance that can show their strength

Interesting! I think I agree with this.

Yeah... I think HSJ could really pull it off.

I'd probably say they're a lot better now than they were before.
