COSMIC GIRL 319
If you're a K Pop fan, chances are you've noticed that Korea pretty much only seems to be here for three companies: YG, SM and JYP. Just having one of those three companies names behind a group is enough to shoot them to superstardom. There are minor companies that have found success in a very competitive industry such as DSP (KARA), MBK (T-ara), CUBE (4minute) and Starship (Sistar) but the future groups of those companies won't necessarily have/don't have the same boost that groups like Twice and Red Velvet had when they debuted. Do you think there could potentially be a fourth big company added to the currently big three; a company with enough influence over enough people that their future rookie groups will become instant stars? gummybear_dragon 1,695
Of course, the Big 3 can't be the Big 3 forever. Eventually, another company will hold the same power and change up a few things. Hopefully that company isn't FNC
╯SHIwol╰ 2,348
There are actually companies as relevant for Kfans. They aren't idol-centered that's why most i-fans don't know about it.
Cho-hee 150
I think it will be a while until then. It's takes setting the right foundation and then having a least a handful of successful artist imo Even if it's under YG I think High Ground will be a label to watch out for. kookeclipse 1,359
Probably not anytime soon, but I think eventually it could happen. Maybe if Pledis got their shit together, made more money bc they're broke af, and debuted some a new group or two that became monster rookies like Seventeen, then perhaps they could. Also BTS is pretty popular so I think if they debut more groups people would be interested, and if they were good then definitely.
Hyoyeonisnotfood 4,206
sorry but in terms of popularity and succes SM >>> YG >>>>>>> JYP >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> other kpop companies. i dont think we will see another company joining anytime soon. Cat of The Canals 8,842
Anything could happen really and it's possible tbh. But the big 3 are a big 3 for a reason. They don't just do well in sales/success but they have some sort of public relevancy; they've had an impact in one way or another. At least that's how I see it
robert-nogg 374
wasn't there some news a year (two years?) ago, about how cube ent. was becoming one of the top companies... of course a lot of people disagreed with that news article, saying that cube was no way near the big 3's succes, and yeah, cube is definately way behind the big 3s succes,,, but yeah... if one company gets to join the big 3 i think/hope that cube is it ^^

SOLAR MOON 3,775
the thing is.. everything's possible. However they will never be called the "Big 3" because the achievements & the impact these three had was so "phenomenal" no one else could surpass. Tho if you look at them sales wise, I think Cube has actually surpassed JYP (or was it FNC, hmm I forgot) but they still cannot be part of the Big 3 since their impact wasn't like JYP's
fairweathermoviefan 1,104
Of course. YG just became part of the big 3 in the last decade. Correct me if I am wrong but DSP use to be bigger than YG. They made some mistakes and YG grew with BB and eventually with 2ne1.

Influence is greater than profit, jyp is near to be surpass or some surpass in terms of sale.. but they can't erase jyp's name in public the big 3 is locked.. one may join 5-10 years from now but they can't change unless one close down.. Solivagant 10
Just so you know DSP and SM was originally the top 2 so I wouldn't call them a minor company. DSP became bad after new management and cause YG created BigBang. I can see BigHit becoming one of the top companies. BTS just needs that one hit song to gain public recognition. fairweathermoviefan 1,104
The company just had to create an iconic group(s) or soloist that will raise the status of the company. Then it will be the Big 4.

If everyone notice a year won't end without big 3 releasing a bop they are always consistent.. Sent from my ASUS_T00I using Tapatalk

jelly moon 291
It's possible but tbh there are certain milestones you have to pass to get to that level, and for the current crop of companies it would be a long time before it could happen. Cube is the closest but they're inconsistent and waste so much momentum ._. I'd say Starship and Pledis have a fair shot if they stay on track with their management and WJSN and Seventeen successfully break into China. Big Hit is kind of a wildcard but I can see them rising in the distant future.
Sour Patch 5,568
Well according to FNC, FNC is already part of the big 3. Nation's first love Seolhyun approves of this message.

Is big hit somehow related to jyp back days?..Maybe yes but still too far unless if they have back to back blockbusters Big 3 also have solid fandoms itself they are not called jypnation, smtown, ygfamily for nothing and each has national artist with them bigbang snsd and suzy... ApinkPandaOfApink 338
CUBE had their chance in 2011 Not anymore right now As ridiculous it might sound,ACUBE has a brighter future than CUBE in getting in as one of top companies, assuming their boy group is popular and the management remain the same
Sa1zo 3,534
Isn't FNC ent closest to becoming 3rd or 4th company not Cube? I mean isn't FNC revenue and profit already higher than JYP and at the moment FNC as a company is worth 292 billion won compared to JYP 150 billion won and CUBE 55 billion won.
